I know that as we mature, words we read at an earlier time seem to take on a new and deeper meaning but is there anything currently that you may not fully understand now but may in the future?

For me currently: At the wedding in Cana when Jesus responded to his mother as, "Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come”

This seems odd to address his mother in this manner, no?

The ONLY guess I have with my limited understanding as of now is, he was revealing himself as being above his mother, God in the flesh

Any other tough verses for anyone else?

Most scholars I know of say that Jesus calling her woman is not disrespectful at all. As far as "my hour is not yet come", He meant that it was not time for His full identity to be revealed. But He did the miracle for the sake of His disciples, so that they would BEGIN to understand who He is.

If you read the Gospels, Jesus did a lot of things and told people not to tell anyone. Because He was following a time table, and was preparing the disciples, training them, so they'd be ready when He ascended and handed them the keys

The passage I have trouble fully understanding are the last chapters of Exekiel, starting with chapter 40. I think it's Ezekiel 40-46. There is also much disagreement on this among interpreters

That is true, Jesus is addressing His mother according to His deity, which she is not His mother in that sense, but a woman.

Jesus could speak as God or man, for He is both, and when a man called Jesus, good master, he was addressing Jesus according to His humanity, which Jesus said why call Me good, for there is only one good, and that is God, which the man Christ Jesus was giving glory to God why He was going about doing good.

Many people called Him Lord and Master, for they realized His deity.

Mat 12:47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
Mat 12:48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
Mat 12:49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mat 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Jesus did not give glory to Mary, but viewed her as the same as all the saints, and even pointed to His disciples, and said behold My mother, for whoever does the will of my Father is my mother.

Jesus called her woman because He is above her being God, but she is His mother according to His humanity, but God gets the glory for the conception.

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

Did not understand the heads, and the animal references at first, but then came to realize that it is 4 kingdoms all in this one kingdom, the kingdom of man in it's entirety, which Daniel 7 explains.

Roman Empire, which represents pushing for territory, and dominion, for it stems from them for they do not lose their dominion until Jesus puts them down, the ten horns, the physical dominion of the beast kingdom in the future, the world split in to ten sections with a leader in each section.

Which now people may understand the fuss concerning the American, Mexican border, and the wall, dissolve the border and make them one nation, and problem solved, and also Canada, all three as one nation, super nation number one.

The ways of a lion, Babylon, which represents human religion, the occult, the kingdom of man.

The ways of a leopard, Greece, which represents human wisdom.

The ways of a bear, Medo-Persia, which represents physical cruelty.

The kingdom of man in it's entirety with all 4 kingdoms main mode of operation all in this kingdom, and they took away the hope of the world, so God will then end this sin business on earth.

The 7 heads are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Roman Empire, the ten horn kingdom in the future, and the 8th is the antichrist who is of the 7 for the devil influenced those kingdoms.

A difficult 'passage' for me is the vision in Ezek 1 describing the creatures with their wheels within wheels and rings etc.

Eze 1:5-24
(5) And from the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had a human likeness,
(6) but each had four faces, and each of them had four wings.
(7) Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf's foot. And they sparkled like burnished bronze.
(8) Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. And the four had their faces and their wings thus:
(9) their wings touched one another. Each one of them went straight forward, without turning as they went.
(10) As for the likeness of their faces, each had a human face. The four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four had the face of an eagle.
(11) Such were their faces. And their wings were spread out above. Each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies.
(12) And each went straight forward. Wherever the spirit would go, they went, without turning as they went.
(13) As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches moving to and fro among the living creatures. And the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
(14) And the living creatures darted to and fro, like the appearance of a flash of lightning.
(15) Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them.
(16) As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of beryl. And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel.
(17) When they went, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went.
(18) And their rims were tall and awesome, and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around.
(19) And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose.
(20) Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
(21) When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

(22) Over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of an expanse, shining like awe-inspiring crystal, spread out above their heads.
(23) And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. And each creature had two wings covering its body.
(24) And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army. When they stood still, they let down their wings.

Well, for one thing, we should not interpret Jesus' reply to Mary as being derogatory or debasing. You seem to be applying what Jesus said in reference to our current slang or way of thinking, which He is not. Remember, Jesus fulfilled the law completely and fully, which would include honoring your father and mother. Regarding this, we must keep in mind that this was said 2000 years ago and a completely different culture and mind set. My meaning is that, maybe men did not refer to their mothers by their first names. In addition, Mary's response to the servants "do whatever He tells you" would demonstrate that it wasn't a debasing remark.

Actually learning to remove modern cultural interpretation out of 2000 year old culture is pretty vital. A modern interpretation of him saying "woman" in that context does not mean it was viewed the same way at the time it was said compares to now.
It's easy to forget this idea. Not many people even teach it.

Totally agree. As I look into the original Greek text used for the word woman in the Bible, the word γύναι is used to politely address an adult female person. This is not a modern Greek text anymore. This is what they call Koine Greek. If you go to Greek-speaking countries, you won't hear this Koine Greek language being used as this is an obsolete one already. They're using modern Greek language these days. This is what I usually do when there is a confusing or double meaning passage in the Bible, by going to the original text. You may download this app called Scripture Direct. Thank you. Good discussion! God bless!

I have been keeping this one to myself for the revelation for almost five decades.
The image of the eyes is spooky but there is reason for it of course because our Father doe snot kid around.
I will continue to wait understanding on that passage and the entire Book of Ezekiel because it all has me dumbfounded.
All I may suggest is that you also……...wait.. God bless you always.

The passage I have trouble fully understanding are the last chapters of Exekiel, starting with chapter 40. I think it's Ezekiel 40-46. There is also much disagreement on this among interpreters
There are a number of things to note in this connection:

1. Many of the commentators are committed to Preterism, Amillennialism, and Covenant Theology. Therefore they simply cannot grasp the things that are prophesied in Ezekiel.

2. Ezekiel is devoted to the future redemption and restoration of Israel on earth (after the Second Coming of Christ), and almost all the prophets have something to say about this. The Millennial reign of Christ will coincide with the fulfillment of these prophecies.

3. Ezekiel tells us that God will gather all the Jews from around the world and bring them to Israel. We know from other Scriptures that a believing remnant will be saved under the New Covenant, and also identified according to their tribes.

4. The future kingdom of Israel will be established under Christ, with David as prince over Israel. We also know that the twelve apostles will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

5. All the tribes will be established in Greater Israel (from the Nile to the Euphrates) according to a specific geographical plan. At the same time Jerusalem will be redeemed and restored and the true and final temple of God will be built there. The priests and Levites will be allowed to offer animal sacrifices in that temple.

And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places. (Ezek 43:7)
But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD: They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge. (Ezek 44:15,16)

6. What is not explained is how to reconcile all this with the New Covenant in the blood of Christ. We know that the New Covenant is an everlasting covenant, therefore God will reveal to the Church at that time the significance of the temple and its sacrifices. It is best to reserve judgment at this time, since God has not revealed everything to us in full detail. Neither should anyone try to spiritualize or allegorize these prophecies, since there is too much detail to dismiss any of this.

Ezekiel chapter 10 provides more detail, and in that chapter Ezekiel calls these living creatures *Cherubims* (a special class of angels associated with the throne of God).
This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims. Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings. And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward. (Ezek 10:20-22).

The word cherubim כְרוּבִ֖ים itself is plural for cherub* and really does not need an *s* at the end.

Strong's Concordance
kerub: probably an order of angelic beings
Original Word: כְּרוּב
Part of Speech: Noun Masculine
Transliteration: kerub
Phonetic Spelling: (ker-oob')
Definition:
probably an order of angelic beings

perhaps it may have something to do with 'Woman' being Eve's original name

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven.

Yes I am in agreement with your points. Point six is the reason why I say the text is difficult to fully understand, but like you say, there are things that are not fully revealed, but we need to believe the things in God's word, even when we don't fully understand some of them

You shared that this passage was difficult for you..
But you never revealed Why it was difficult for you?

I've never understood Hosea!

The entire story is completely against God's own commandments, to get a harlot for a wife, yet God commands that particular thing from Hosea.

That has always thrown me off, i've read commentaries on it and some like John Gill suggest its merely an allegory, but i dont know, the language seems too literal and precise to be taken as an allegory.

The events are real, but they are representing Israel's unfaithfulness to God in serving idols, which is spiritual adultery

“JESUS’ TRUE FAMILY - Matthew 12

46 While He (Christ) yet talked to the people (concerns the terrible Word He has just delivered concerning Israel’s present and future state), behold, His mother and His brethren stood without, desiring to speak with Him (Jesus was probably in a particular house, with it being filled with people, with no more room for others to come in, hence His family not able to get to Him; their desire to speak with Him was not in a positive sense).

47 Then one said unto Him, Behold, Your mother and Your brethren stand without, desiring to speak with You (they had things to say to Him, but they little desired to hear what He had to say to them; thankfully, that would change after His Death and Resurrection).

48 But He answered and said unto him who told Him, Who is My mother? and who are My brethren? (This totally refutes the claims later made by the Catholic Church.)

“49 And He stretched forth His Hand toward His Disciples (refers to the original Twelve, but is not limited to them, as it refers to any and all who follow Him, as the next Passage proclaims), and said, Behold My mother and My brethren!

50 For whosoever (increases the dimensions of His family to include all who follow Him) shall do the will of My Father which is in Heaven (proclaims the qualifications for being a part of the Family of God), the same is My brother, and sister, and mother (places no significance on physical birth, but everything on spiritual birth).”

I knew they were Cherubims/Seraphims of some sort with their wings and all ministering near the Throne, but it was the imagery of wheels within wheels etc. that was throwing me for a loop. :)
