Matthew 24:37-38
(37) But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
(38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
This verses says as in the days of Noah, Marrying and giving in marriage. So where do we see that in Noah's time?
Genesis 6:2
(2) That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
So since Jesus said 'as in the days of Noah' then do we see the same thing today angels marrying today? Or is it referring to something else? Or do we see people of God marrying people who do not follow God? Do we see the world coming into the church?
God instructed His people not to make marriages with people who do not follow God or they will turn them away
Deuteronomy 7:3-4
(3) Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
(4) For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
2 Corinthians 6:14
(14) Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
What has one to do with the other, you take scriptures out of context and time lines and confusing the issue, trying to grasp any straw you can find and then rather building a strawman here...
Have there been no times after Noah until the end times where people have been marrying or given in marriage or where they have been eating and drinking? Not about who they marry or what they are actually eating and drinking - TWO totally separate issues.
Let's look at the comparable scripture in
Luke17:26-30
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Well Jesus doesn't only mention Noah here but also Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah. Why? Because in both of these events we do see similar things of sin abounding and people not fearing God and just living vain lives not honoring God, just before a severe judgment was coming and in both times a remnant was saved out of the whole group. That's the reason this was used! It doesn't have to go into details why - like I said DIFFERENT issue!
Nice try - weak argument!
Also the scripture about intermarriage with other people (non-believers), not obeying God in this, is part of the law!
Well guess what, there was no law back then! People just have been multiplying ( a whole chapter devoted for that!), then it all of a sudden talks about the sons of God (not sons of men with daughters of men!) taking earthly wives - Heavenly sons - earthly daughters!
Anyways they were not inter-marrying with unbelievers but with fallen angels, I doubt that there were any real believers left to begin with except Noah, since it also says that all flesh had corrupted! There was no one clean anymore - so if God had not provided a way out of this for Noah and his descendants through this flood, killing everything else, this corrupt flesh would have gone on indefinitely and then polluted the seed through which Jesus was going to come!
Again here even the NIV makes a distinction:
1 When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
Even just by logic reasoning of interpretation. The term appears 4 times in the OT, in 3 of them it is absolutely clear that it describes angles, how do you justify using the same exact term for it with a totally different meaning just because this time the subject is beyond what you personally believe!? That is the opposite of the apologetical and hermeneutical way of dealing with this.
You have been avoiding my questions to you and not even been able to sensibly reply to any of my posts with real scriptural information pertaining to what I am presenting, for a productive discussion, but bringing side arguments that do not fit, instead of dealing with evidence already presented , which you totally disregard. So no matter what I say or how many evidences I do bring forward, you either avoid them or reject my comments, without giving it a real thought. So you do not want to know the truth, but it's now just about holding up that argument no matter how unjustified or speculative it is.
If this is too hard to believe and if you are in fear that this could actually be true then you would have to change your believe. This is not just for sake of argument of who is right and wrong but the truth, since this has further consequences on the rest of our understanding about God and the spiritual realm and the way we do spiritual warfare or the lack thereof. Of course the enemy doesn't want you to get to know the truth. If he can keep people in darkness of what really is going on they are going to be less effective!
That's what this is about!
So until you can at least take a position to my statements and questions and comment directly to what was presented already, objectively,, I rather use my time more constructively to help people on here that are open to learn and want help or asking for help.
