Anakainoo=renewed
This occurs ONCE in the new testament - trying to use that to replace kainos (new) is just bogus. And a sign of desperation.

If the writer of Hebrews wanted to convey the idea of a renewed covenant, then he would have used the the Greek anakainizo which is precisely what he does in Heb 6:6

"and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame."

Good luck with trying to adjust scripture to comply with your errors.

The statement was not about the Bible, nor about it's application. The simplicity of the question, as per the name of the thread whs the object of the comment. I gave an answer to the question as the Bible says it. Sola scriptora. Tota scriptora.

  • To All responding,
I'm sorry to say that I expected to have better treatment in the discussion of the Word among Christians, I've simply answered the question by the bible as concerning “who the New testament was written” and now I'm being questioned on my view of being born again? or shall I say 'renewed' or shall I say 'alive from the dead'? or shall I say a 'new creature'?
Sounds like you guys just don't like the bible's answers to questions, I think if you look at what I have posted verses the responses to me all I've done is answer with scripture.

  • To Locutus,

I have not supposed your lack of knowledge as you trying for force scripture to fit your 'error', why do you do it to me?
Must be that sadistic view of 'doing to others as you would have them do to you' ?

No lack of knowledge on my part ICBM, you are trying to make new mean renewed, other than Heb 6:6 which has the strict definition of renew the examples you have given are derivatives of anakainizo.

This still does not make your claim that the new covenant is a renewed covenant.

And trying to muddy the water with Jer 31:31 does not help your case as the word is new not renewed:

Strongs

H2319 chadash khaw-dawsh'

from
H2318;

new.

KJV: fresh, new thing.

Had Jeremiah wanted to state the covenant was to be renewed he would have used the root word:

Strongs

H2318 chadash khaw-dash'

a primitive root;

to be new; causatively, to rebuild.

KJV: renew, repair.

But hey, carry on trying to establish your error.

Well, it was almost written to all of MANKIND.... Until the secular came along and decided G-d missed it and His Word is not ALIVE.... TRANSCENDING ALL TIME.... IN THAT CASE MANKIND IS WITHOUT HOPE!!!!!

MattG.... I am praying for your SALVATION!!!!!! You can e-mail me I would love to talk with you.... Who do you believe is your savior? And why?
Sister mcubed, I thank you for your concern about my salvation, salvation is found in the Good news, of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe on the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who did everything we could never do.

Romans 5 :

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

The reason why this is good news is because we have peace, forgiveness, and comfort in our life by having a relationship with God, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

:) God bless all.

I think I'll finish with this thought...

I didn't claim that, go read what I wrote and study what you didn't know by your obvious contradicted statements rather than speaking non-meaningfully ...Pro_26:5

This is according to the website site you are pointing people to

The result of reNEWing the Covenant:

The Lord YHWH will be merciful to Israel and Judah’s unrighteousness in *sins and iniquities, for YHWH will remember them no more.

There is no renewing of the covenant - there is only a new covenant.

Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.

in response brother brendo784au, to your use of scripture.

2 Thessalonians 1:1 Paul, Silas[a] and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2: Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

The reason they were told to let no one to decieve them in any way was because the day of the Lord would only come when a rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.

This man will exalt himself to be God, and He will exalt Himself to be over everything that is called God or is worshipped.

So the warning to the Church of the Thessalonians was to be watchful, and be wise and let no one deceive you, for you will know when the time is near, but is closing even nearer when the man of lawlessness is revealed to the nations (world at that the time)

I hope I used this right, thank you for sharing scripture with us here friend, in Christ Jesus. :)

It's okay, you don't have to believe me, brother breno.

This is a letter written to the church of the Thessalonians, to be wise and watchful, and not to be mislead about the coming of the Lord, and they were also warned that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction

I believe they did see a falling away and rebellion, and that the man of lawlessness was revealed, in revelation it shows us about the number 666, and how the number correlates with the name of a man, who is the man of lawlessness, the beast, and anti-christ.

Some people don't believe that the anti-christ has been revealed yet, but in my view, I do believe He has come already, and his name was Nero Ceasur.

But you don't have to believe me or agree with me. But this is what I believe it is all talking about here in what it has said, from the scriptures.

AubreyG is right - Paul's letter to the Thessalonian is very much directed to THEIR issues not ours.

2 Th 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

2 Th 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

2 Th 2:5 Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

2 Th 2:6 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.

2 Th 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

2 Th 2:8 KJV) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

As can be seen the man of lawlessness was alive and being restrained when Paul wrote his letter, and the mystery was already at work

This is very much an occasional letter addressing their concerns.

There would be no need for Paul to address the the man of lawlessness and being restrained in their day if this was something that would happen 2000 years later - it would have no practical importance for them.

He is speaking to them in the midst of tribulation and offering comfort in the face of greater tribulation they would be enduring under the man of sin when lawlessness would abound resulting in a falling away due to persecution.

Nero was about as much the real Antichrist as Barack Obama. They were both narcissistic, but neither of them sat in the temple at Jerusalem claiming to be God.

So Jesus destroyed "Nero Caesar" when he invisibly returned in the 1st century AD with "the brightness of his coming?"

Let's put this together breno, Paul's second letter is follow up to what he already and spoke to them about the man of sin/lawlessness.

They are undergoing persecution (afflicted) at the instigation of the Jews, Paul states that they will be recompense with affliction themselves - the persecuting Jews become the persecuted

2 Th 1:6 For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,

2 Th 1:7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire,

2 Th 1:8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus

2 Th 1:9 These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

That it is the persecuting Jews that Paul is mainly speaking about is evident that only the Jews could have been said to dwell in the presence of the Lord.

Paul stated they would be dealt retribution, and this is precisely what happened in the war of 66-70 AD when the persecuting power of the Jews ended.

Paul is promising them relief from persecution in their life time, "and to give relief to you who are afflicted", therefore unless Paul got it wrong then this must have occurred while some of them were still living.

Hi MattG, why you was banned? Why you are back?
He was obviously reported by some that did not understand what he was saying. Being new to the faith he does not always phrase his posts or threads in a clear manner which has led to some misinterpretation his statement.

Yes he came back with Roman Armies in 66, that's 2 six's, 4 threes, the war ended in 70 AD, that's 7 tens and ten sevens.

I thought you woulda figured this one out easily.
