Why did God make it so hard for most people to believe the bible? Or in other words, why did He make it so hard to prove that any of it really happened?

Most people believe its not much more than a long storybook, and its hard to cite any scientific proof that the stories are true (even though I personally believe they are true).

Google something like Biblical Archeology and you will be amazed and the stuff they have solid proof for.

Well then do the research. You can't sit on your laurels and cry "not true!" if you have not done any research. To do so is to be
1~lazy, 2~ hereitcal, and 3~ just plain ignorant and immature.

The Bible is a SPIRITUAL BOOK. It cannot be rightly understood by anyone that is not born again having Jesus living within them. And, it is even better understood by those that have received the 2nd baptism, that of the Holy Spirit which empowers a believer to be able to DO the Word of God.

...for a non-born again person to read and understand the Bible is no different than an English-reading and English-speaking ONLY person to try to read something Greek. It just ain't gonna work~!

Why did God make it so hard for most people to believe the Bible? Not at all. That's an unproven assumption. The question is, "Did God make it so hard for most people to believe the Bible"? No. God doesn't make anything hard. He doesn't make things easy. It is easy, or hard, depending on how people use their free will. God doesn't force Himself on anyone.
But His will will be done, and He will cooperate with those people who are freely willing to cooperate with Him, and so be saved. He wants people to believe in Him, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16).

John 20:29
Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Belief in the Bible, or the belief in God, must be made by faith; that's basically the whole concept of Christianity.

Also, I do believe that settings (temples and such) described in the Bible were discovered by archeologists and the Bible has been considered as a historical document (I'll find the source), so...

God speaks to all of us. But just like little children we do not want to lsiten. If we only kept our eyes open. The world is full awe!
Nobody on this Earth has the almight knowledge to even attempt to get the hands around the complexity of this creation. Awe.
The one who pretend to know it all are full of gaps and theories bridged with air. Awe!

God didn't make it hard to read or understand the Bible. People have sinned and blinded their eyes and ears to the truth and do not see the spiritual world or the Love God has for us or the plan because they lust after power, control, material possessions and other things of the FLESH and are slaves to that master: Satan and not to GOD.

If anyone prays with an open heart God gives the free gift of the Holy Spirit that can open the spiritual eyes and ears that allow anyone to see the truth of the spiritual world and experience the TRUTH found out or revealed in the Bible. i can quote scriptures and events in my life that compliment each other and give testimony for how God has used the Bible to illuminate my life and lead me into a closer walk with Him.

I like to think I"m just a normal person and everyone else does the same. My husband says I"m some what naive because I think everyone thinks like me and just wants to help others and love everyone and share the wonderful things God does for us each day. It logical and makes sense to me. I'm a scientific logically minded person who have seen God's miracles and witness angels and demons at work in the world, but people tell me they don't experience the same thing and that makes me wonder why not.

I think if you knock the door will be open, I think Faith is a spiritual gift that protects us from the arrows of the enemy and allows us to walk safely on whatever path God would have us tread.

Blessings to my brothers and sisters in Christ may you recognize and grow in your spiritual gifts and join the Body to the Glory of our Father in Heaven. Shalom.

Not going yet going into the credentials, potential for author bias, artistic license and divinity claims alot of the evidence people are proposing rarely qualifies past the obvious questions (from the ones i've seen, and i've read a fair few claims from proposed faith champions). 1. Is the evidence from the time of Jesus? 2. Does it refer explicity to Jesus or actions of a prophet in line with the Jesus claim.
Paul's writings are perhaps the only thing I've heard that ticks those boxes then the authenticy arguments come in.

Anyway, to put my ex-girlfriends view across, the evidence is in the relationship alone, she does consider it divinely inspired but doesn't equate this with infallibility; but guided to read it thinks what is taken is the wisdom and not the fallibleness (is that a word). Needless to say my position; I can't read it right apparently ;)

I'm talking about proving it to other people. I know there is some evidence out there, and I have tried to use it to convince others, but I found that non-believers can easily refute it.

Have you ever tried to convince someone that it is not simply a work of fiction? Thats what I'm getting at. Its not easy convincing others.

I think most people, if given 1000 reasons to believe, will ask for 1001.

Also doesn't help when you compromise.
