I use to be a catholic and im sooooo happy that im a protestant now.

#1. catholics pray to mary+saints and to jesus.....why not pray to jesus alone
#2. catholics have statues in their church and pray to them when they kneel down an pray
#3. catholics focus on jesus suffering on the cross more than what he did
#4. priests dont get married hence kids getting raped so i prefer pastors
#5. do you know how many evil popes there have been in the past? they wanted to kill queen elizabeth daughter of king henry because she was a protestant but she reined and became a wealthy queen who helped her people known as the golden age....watch the movie ELIZABETH
#6. alot of catholics treat the pope like a god. i dont know why the preists wear all this fancy clothing when they can just wear simple clothes like a pastor.
#7. i confess my sins to jesus alone and not to a priest...only jesus can forgive me.
#8. i dont like the sunday missel

i dont force people to believe in being a protestant but this is who i am. i feel blessed to be a protestant because my pastor takes actual text from the bible and puts it in the sermon and explains it. Also when one of my sisters was suffering anorexia the priest kicked her and gave her a big bruise on her leg and he said that will get the evil out of her. now she goes to a protestant church and is already better and healthy. i just can't believe he kicked her and she was fragile.

believe in what what you want to believe but this is my opinion and i hope im not coming across as prejudice.

i feel that jesus is all around me...his love surrounds me...its an awesome feeling

Thanks for this post, I am glad Jesus has set you free from the bondages of all that, I didn't know that catholics," #2. catholics have statues in their church and pray to them when they kneel down an pray"

I had never heard that one before :Ex 20:4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:Ex 20:5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

well yeah the catholic church i use to go to has a massive mary statue and it had some kneeling logs. and alot of catholics would kneel to the huge mother mary statue and pray to her with the rosary. also there probably over 20 metre high statues in that church. it was just a local community church but so big.

its as though all the money they get from the conregation they spend it on upgrading the look of the church because that church has had so many upgrades and you know what? that money could have been used to help the homeless, the needy, other communities that really needed it. not to just have more saint statues in the church. i never felt conneced to that church and there was no youngadult or teenage study groups. but in my reformed church there is a bible study and all sorts of events that keep the church alive. i like that. :) im happy i got to know jesus more. :)
