No we don't need to study the wolf, we need to study the word.
But just saying to know thin things in understanding.
Just as the verse says, "those who wait upon the Lord shall mount up as
eagles they shall run and not be weary.
There's a lot to know about the eagles, since it was used as a bird of strength,
But the real thing here is the aggressive wolf, salvitaiting waiting for the weak one to attack, or the one that looks vulnerable, I wouldn't touch those because God said
Touch not my anointed, For the spirit of the Living God dwells with in us all
to those who believed upon the Son.
Galations 4:6 We cry abba father, and he hears us and deliivers us.
So Wolf be aware, the tables are going to be turned on you by
the Almighty just as they were in the temple as Jesus said,
"My house shall be called a house of prayer."
Not a devouring destructive place for it will turn upon you in much revenge and fury from an angry God, as those tables were turned over by the Son of God.
WEre to encourage one another, not discourage, to bring other's out of the past, and not to keep them there, bringing it up .

I was reading the Bible yesterday and your post got me to thinking KALYA. I also found out that not only was Jesus anointed but so are all of us just as you pointed out in your post. And we should always be careful what we say to and about one another.

Oil in the Bible speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus came to earth He did all He did in the power of the Holy Spirit by the faith He had. He didn't do the things He did in His own power. Jesus emptied Himself taking the form of a servant. Philippians 2:7

[SUP]7 [/SUP]But stripped Himself [of all privileges and [SUP][a][/SUP]rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

Luke 4:8 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor.

So just as Jesus is the first of many brethren., we are also following in His footsteps by being anointed. 1 John 2:20

[SUP]20 [/SUP]But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things.

We each have been given this anointing by the Holy Spirit when we got saved. To do the things God calls us to do by walking in our born again spirit man by faith and in the power of the HolySpirit. Just like Jesus did. He is the first of many brethren.

Bill, I've been thinking about your post. Made me think out the difference between wolves and tare.

Now I'm wondering what to do about wolves and tares.

Already came up with warning fellow sheep against wolves. Just don't know what to do about the vast quantity of tares too. This site, especially this forum, seems like an unkempt garden and the tares took over.

Hi Depleted.

Good post.

Do you think the parable refers to the church or the world or both?
When I say church not necessarily Christian church but could include other religions that preach against the Gospel.

Matthew 13:24-30
The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares
24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;
25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.
26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared.
27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’
28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’
29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”

Matthew 13:36-40
The Parable of the Tares Explained
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”
37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.

What is interesting is verse 29.
It looks like at some point it is very difficult to distinguish between wheat and tares.

Tares in early stages of growth resemble wheat.
But when it's time to harvest it's obvious they are tares and not wheat.

What do you think?

Also it's why we should not write someone off, unless it is so obvious that they are tares.

At the end on the day, judgment Day it is Jesus who says "I never knew you"

I know that tare looked just like wheat, so no good trying to weed them out. You don't want to weed out good wheat too. It's only at harvest time that there is something about winnowing that differentiates the two.

Did not remember the evil one sowed the tare. I keep thinking it's like for every 100 people who followed Jesus, about 10 of them really followed him. He was good at saying something that got the 90 others to leave, post haste.

But, for every 100 people who followed Jesus 10 stayed. (The numbers are metaphoric, not actuary numbers.) Which means many heard, yet only a few were chosen.

I'm naturally an optimist, so I keep seeing the ten. And given I have no idea who the ten are, I want to make sure I'm not kicking out a 10er, thinking the 10er is a 90er.

But what got me thinking about this again, was Paul in Corinth, he knew when to shake his cloak off and when not to. (Acts 18:6) Naturally optimistic, has its downside. I honestly don't know when to shake it off and when not to.

Wolf pointing I can do. Believing that someone who rather talk about eschatology, KJVOnlyism, H2O baptism, Saturday Sabbath, creation, Works V. Grace, how nonbelievers can go to heaven, or even heaven itself, instead of God won't ever become saved is something I have trouble accepting when it's time to shake it off.

Lots and lots of talking around God on this forum, but very little of it is talking about God.

Considering how easy it is to get caught up in topics, instead of God, I see it as the tares are stunting the growth of the wheat. I just don't know how to stop it, if I'm supposed to stop it, or if I'm supposed to add more nutrition to the soil and water so the wheat doesn't choke to death under the tareishness of this forum.

Yes tares/weeds will stunt the growth of wheat.

Yes we are meant to stop it.
We come against the lies people sow.

There are threads that I really do not respond to anymore.
I only do so when when I see a young babe being persuaded of something that is not right.
There are some people I will not respond to either and will only do so for the same reason above.

At what point do we shake the dust off our feet?
For me that's difficult to answer, because like you I'm eternally optimistic as well.

When it does happen it is when I come to the realisation that they do not wish the discuss and their only purpose is to be rude and derogatory and bring you down.

Only God can root up the tares (people who are not genuinely saved by believe they are Christians). On the other hand tares are not necessarily wolves in sheep's clothing, so they should not be mentioned in this thread. The wolves need to be reproved, exposed and shunned. Paul says "from such turn away". False teachers, false apostles, and false prophets are the wolves who seek to devour the flock.

you would have to be able to look into a person's heart to judge whether or not they are 'real' and that is why Jesus says not to try and pull them up

hearts are God's domain

I do not see where wolves and tares are the same...one, tares, are in the church...blending in with the wheat (apparently tares are similar in appearance...they might even be real good actors...fooling people...but they are weeds)

wolves on the other hand, surround their 'prey' and are 'leaders'...not 'followers'

I don't see the point in seeking after a wolf anyway...

God is gonna judge everyone right?

So what is the point, is it just to be like LOOK AT THIS GUY OVER HERE THIS WOLF DEMON! (Even if they preach Jesus Christ, and believe in His shed blood)

better watch out for him!

Lol there is only so many people here in this forum, and only so many people you're gonna see through out your life.

Even the demons believe and they shudder. When they believe in God...

Are humans demons or something?

you don't have to seek them

they are numerous

Paul didn't think we should ignore them...why do you?

wolves are in positions of authority...tares and wolves not the same as people have tried to point out

wolves scatter and devour the flock...have you read Paul's writings?

all demons believe in God

therefore, demons are not humans

it's all in there :)

Who is talking about "seeking after" wolves? The wolves seek after their prey -- in nature and in spiritual matters. The real issue is whether you personally know what the Bible teaches so that you can spot a wolf before he gets too close. Unfortunately there are thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of gullible Christians who have not been properly grounded in the Word, or who have been misled by others, and they are easy prey. How do you think the cults and false religions are growing faster that biblical churches?

It's not my job, to keep up with humans and what they do...

Lets try to look at something, could someone come in a church back then, and pull people from their faith in Christ, and say no this isn't the way, we have to go back to sacrificing animals to God, having faith in Jesus Christ is not enough at all, brother we have to go back to the law....

Now in context, yes, this right here is very possible.

We live in a different time though, we don't tell people they have to go back and sacrifice animals or anything, we tell them to have faith, and trust God, and the Lord Jesus Christ right?

do you always try to make a case with unrelated events to explain why we might just gloss over the warnings in scripture?

do you believe the Bible is relevant for today?

if not, what is the criteria you use for your lifestyle?

you know, it's not my op, but you seem to object to the op

so I'll let you do that

thanks anyway

I believe the bible is a spiritual guide book, for us to be used for us in our life today, but not something to bash in the face of other people, or use scripture to cut throats, and necks of other people who may believe differently than others that is all...

I ain't seen a wolf in a long time I guess is all I'm really getting at... They are probably hiding so good, it's impossible for me to really tell, at the limited of number of human beings I see on an average bases...

But I do know that times were very different back then in the times when all of these letters were written, to them back then.

But of course that is just me, and my different view points in seeing that all the bible is fulfilled, and it changes everything around that it doesn't seem quiet normal to follow everyone else in what they may think or see in their own life, and faith that they live.

do you always try to make a case with unrelated events to explain why we might just gloss over the warnings in scripture? Not always, but I felt like talking today, even if it doesn't matter to anyone in here I guess.

There is a truth Jesus gives us.
His sheep listen to Him. If you bring His word, from the heart in love, and people reject
it, they are not of Him.

John put it like this

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
1 John 4:6

Now I look at a verse like this and say, does Gods word speak to my heart?
Is my conscience clean and am I sensitive to the Spirit and His leading?
If the answer is yes, and I honor the Lord in all I do, bringing glory to Him
and His word, Amen.

So I have absolute confidence, those who are truly born from on high will
be encouraged and lifted up in His love. It has never been about the right
doctrine, or getting everything balanced, but walking in love and having an
open clean heart.

So many have difficult histories and miss-trust everyone, and see evil everywhere,
rather than just thinking the best, blessing and walking in His grace.

Tares can never touch the people of God, for it is love in our hearts that overflows
every day to His glory. Spending time with Him in His word, knowing He is close by
His children changes everything. Amen.

ok...since you took the time...I would avoid people who use the Bible to bash in the face of other people, or use scripture to cut throats and necks of other people at all costs. in fact I would avoid them like the devil.

if you are referring to debates in the BDF with differences of opinion, I don't agree with the name calling, mocking and ugliness that can happen...but I have no problem debating the topic...but sometimes a person perceives that as a personal attack when of course it is not.

I ain't seen a wolf in a long time I guess is all I'm really getting at... They are probably hiding so good, it's impossible for me to really tell, at the limited of number of human beings I see on an average bases...

LOL! naw...they don't hide at all...that would be anyone masquerading in the name of Christ and using His name for their own purposes...read about Paul getting purty angry at certain Jewish believers who were saying that Gentiles had to be circumcised to be saved...salvation is by faith in Jesus alone...so Paul said...well here...read it for yourself :) Galatians 5...click the link

I would include most programs on TBN and the like as well. that might just might be a personal bias

But I do know that times were very different back then in the times when all of these letters were written, to them back then.

well culturally that would be correct...but people have not changed...and the New Testament church had many problems ...like the church today..as Solomon said, nothing new under the sun. much of the New Testament was written to deal with the problems...sometimes people think the church back then was 'all that' but it was not ...the miracle of it all, is Jesus taking us all by the Holy Spirit, and building his body...the NT calls that'living stones' ... something else you might want to look into if you like

But of course that is just me, and my different view points in seeing that all the bible is fulfilled, and it changes everything around that it doesn't seem quiet normal to follow everyone else in what they may think or see in their own life, and faith that they live.

so you are a preterist then? (believing that the Bible has been fulfilled...no more prophecies left to be filled)

do you always try to make a case with unrelated events to explain why we might just gloss over the warnings in scripture? Not always, but I felt like talking today, even if it doesn't matter to anyone in here I guess.

no prob...some days I feel like talking on here..like yesterday and apparently I'm at it again...

As a gardener, thank you so much for the photos. Always wondered what both look like. (I haven't ever seen a wheat plant IRL. Corn. Lots of corn, but no wheat. lol) But, it's fairly easy to tell the difference in those photos too. After all, we keep cultivating grain to make more food out of less space. (A friend of hubby's job was to figure out how to make a new strain of wheat that had more kernels of wheat on it per stalk. Back when he knew the man, he had already invented one that made three new extra-kernels per stalk. No telling where he went from there.) I'm thinking before Man realized they could hybrid plants, the wheat and tare looked more the same. After all, even now that we can make a better plant, no one wants to make a better weed. lol

As for tares being in the churches, yup, but so are the wolves. No shepherd ever worried about a wolf living far away from his herd. It's the ones that do come in that we have to watch out for, especially when wearing the sheepskin.

And there is the concept of alpha wolf for a reason. Not all wolves are leaders.
