Hey friends, remember this one, "what you say is what you are, caught your hand in the cookie jar."When I was a child and we would call each other names, we use to say that, how very true that statement is, what you say is what you are.....I honestly believe that our words determine our destiny, if we suround ourselves with positive people, line our thoughts up with the Word, stand and claim Gods promises in our lives, if we speak to the mountains, if we speak blessings over our families, I believe these things will come to pass, and on the flip side, if we go around, woe is me, what in the world am I gonna do, just don't think I can do this anymore, then those things to will come to pass, I try hard to stay positive, to see things as I would want them threw faith, sometimes however I feel that others can bring me down, watching the news, talking with family members who worry about stuff when they should be trusting God, sometimes when I point this out, I have been accused of living in a fantasy world, so I tend to not say as much to these family members as I should about standing on Gods Word, what to do?

Hi Pinky,

Well you just keep your faith, trust, and beliefe in God no matter what! Witness, and testify to those people, something's missing in their life if they say you're living in a fantasy or dream world or whatever. I'm not sure if you've ever heard this song before or not, but part of it says "some call it paradise, somwhere beyond the skies, some call it heaven, I call it home, some call it dreaming let me dream on". It's just like that, we have to keep on "dreaming" or hopeing, praying, seeking God's face and will.

They're just down about things and in a negitive mood about them, because there's a "hole" in their life somewhere, something they can't even identify for themself more than likely. That happens many times, everyone but that person can see it. They just can't quiet put their finger on it or whatever, pray for them. Ask the Lord for guidance, wisdom, knowledge, protection, understanding, patients, and so much more. Only He can help you really, I'll be praying about this situation and for you. As well as those family members and friends that are doubting you or whatever's going on. Keep standing on, and professing and quoting the word of God to them no matter what.At the same time, don't "force" it on them, say your peace and let them go.God bless you.

Words are not a force. It is the power we allow words to have over us. If words of themselves had power, then the gospel would have converted EVERYONE who ever heard it. We could simply present the gospel and folks would get saved. But the fact is people reject it.

Words are powerful, the thing about the Word of God is we all have freewill. We choose to accept or reject it and God.People know there's power in God's word, if there wasn't, then why would anyone accept Christ? If they were mearly ''just words'' it would be like a "story book'' or ''fairy tale'' but it's not, it's histirical facts, the words were written by those who lived it and told about it. Granted sometimes people can be overly-sensitive about some things, I don't think that's the case with Pinky and those who are doing what they are to her. The word of God, in John 3:16 says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him, should perish, but have ever lasting life. Whosoever means those who are willing, those who WILL change, who WILL believe, who WILL accept Him. It means anyone and everyone that is WILLING. Words do have a lot of power, just like in 1 Corinthians chapter 14 where it talks about speaking in tongues and having that gift, not everyone has that gift given to them.

It says in 1 Corinthians 14:19 Yet in the church, I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

It's better for us to say few words, and just make our point, speak our peace, and let them go than to speak many words and possibly say too much or the wrong thing. Use few simple words that they understand, rather than using "big" and "technical" words that they may not understand. What one can say with many big words, that even they themself may not even understand, one can also say in few small words.

Also back to John 3:16, if there's not power in words, then how come John 3:16 is the number one verse most hear and read about before accepting Christ? hmm...yes that verse, and the words in it, are VERY powerful. I rest my case. There IS indeed power in all words we say, not to mentiong one more thing.

I use to use words, I would speak before I thought, I learned the hard way, that HURTS others. The words I chose, were "simple" to me but many of them, and they were powerful they really did cause pain for others. I regret that so much, and I watch myself now. We've all made this mistake in life, may as well fess up to it.
