You see in scripture "the seed is usually the Word of God". Look at Mark Ch 4. v 14.and Matt.Ch 13. It is the good ground in which the "seed" can grow, so we need the Holy Spirit to "plough our hearts and so prepare "the Good ground" to receive the seed and let it grow.! Keep up the good work, chew the Word

The Word is the SEED.
The ground is your HEART
I am the farmer and I plant the SEEd (the WORD of GOD) by saying the Word out loud. And I learn the scripture off by heart.

Matthew Chapter 13 Parable of Sower
Romans Chapter 10 vs 17

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

Everytime I say the WORD out loud and hear it, it then goes into your heart.

Interestingly, The Dead Sea scrolls, were written about 100 BC. They contained copies of and quotations from many Old Testament books. When they were discovered about 50 years ago, Bible students were anxious to see if the text of Isaiah, for example, had changed in 2000 years. To their delight, the Dead Sea Scrolls confirmed the accuracy of our modern Bibles and muzzled the skeptics.

The Holy Spirit compared the Bible to imperishable seed, "You have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God. For, 'All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord abides forever.' And this is the word which was preached to you" 1 Peter 1:23-25. God finished writing the Bible in about 96 AD so the Bible is about 2000 years old. God compared the Bible to incorruptible seed. That means that it is impossible to destroy. Jesus said, "the seed is the word of God" Luke 8:11. Peter tells us that the Bible is an indestructible seed. Now the 4500 year old seed in the Pyramids was corruptible. It could be destroyed. If corruptible natural wheat seed could survive 4500 years, how much more can the incorruptible seed of the Bible survive only 2000 years

Interesting, the word that Matthew uses in Ch. 13 is the same word that Paul uses in Romans - sperma, the implication is offspring, this where we get the english word sperm from.

it implying offspring is interesting, makes me think of mens work being tested by fire and those works being the seeds he planted, being new believers.

There are well over 200 uses of the term "seed" in the Bible.

The vast majority of them refer to offspring or descendants.
NOTE: and a significant part of these refer to the seed-line from Adam to Jesus.

The second largest use is simply seeds for planting.

Only a very small portion are used metaphorically for the Word.
