It is fair to say that Paul never got over the fact that he violently persecuted the Church. Even though his rampage against the first followers of Jesus had ended over 20 years earlier, as we read the position of his life in 1 Timothy, he still grieved because of what he had done.

But, as we look at his position in Christ, as he gets older, Paul was moved to celebration and praise because God's mercy is always greater than sin.

Do we believe that in our own position in Christ today? Make Christ your permanent position and He will lead you to the life of Jesus recognizing whom we are in Him by recognizing Him as who we are. Recognizing the Fathers Character and grace that He gives us freely, but not without deep sacrifice on His part.

The Lord Jesus called Paul in the midst of his campaign against him so that he became a public display of Jesus' patient love. So, if we think somehow we are too far from God's mercy, then we should think again. If God can forgive us, and He does; even the filthiest of men and women how is it we shouldn't? Don't let Satan rob you of any of God's grace.

Hey Wu - thanks, it's true, isn't it that we need to find joy in our circumstances. But we all ask in the beginning: HOW? - right?!...Well we have to be given the revelation that no man ever gets beside God who has not first been beside himself knocked upside his common sense with worry and anxiety about the mess he has made of things. When we can't forgive ourselves we hold an entirely too high opinion of our flesh, for man is not innately good, we are innately evil. When we realize this, the realness of the Cross makes inroads into our ability to become dead to the right to ourselves, and alive unto Christ thru Christ Jesus. Our focus shifts from me, onto Him, as to who I am.

Praising God when we feel shame from our past is a good idea. Thank you.

AMEN!...I love how your name (Earnest) ties into steadfast praise.. I love how your praise over-rules what is going on in the Tyranny of Our Urgencies; coupled with your name meaning a sincere and intense conviction. That's a cool irony.

Praising God is the Ultimate end and aim of all we go thru. "Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me." What does it matter whether we are well or ill! Whether you have money or none! It is all a matter of indifference; but one thing is not a matter of indifference, and that is that we are pleasing to the ears of God.

When we start from victory, we can rest in it, without worry.
