8 days so far without sinning, by the grace of God...taking one day at a time. Proving the truth of God's righteousness; that it IS possible to stop sinning (i.e. obey God's commandments) if Christ is in us doing the work.

John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not [DIE], but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world [TO DIE]; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned [TO DIE]: but he that believeth not is condemned already [TO DIE], because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation [OF DEATH], that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be [CORRECTED].

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made [REVEALED], that they are wrought of God.

Those who do truth put their deeds on full display to show they are of God.

John 5:14
Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you."

If it wasn't possible, why would Christ command it?

John 8:11
10 Straightening up, Jesus said to her, "Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?" 11 She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more."

If it wasn't possible, why would Christ command it?

Matthew 5:48
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

If it wasn't possible, why would Christ command it?

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

If it wasn't possible, why would Christ command it?

Deuteronomy 18:13
You must be blameless before the LORD your God.

If it wasn't possible, why would God command it?

Luke 1:5-6
5 In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6 Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly

If it wasn't possible, how could Zechariah and Elizabeth do it?

Jeremiah 9:23-24
23 This is what the LORD says: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.

I refuse to believe the lie anymore, that we can't stop sinning. It’s time for us to cross over into the promise land and stop wandering in this wilderness.

Yahshua, you are not telling me something I don't already know. I know it is possible to go for some time, how long ,I never tried to gauge ; But I have been for a time not aware of any sin in my life. This is not news for any one who takes His duty before God serious. But this is not the same as claiming not to have sin or sinned. Romans 6-8 is a good passage to show that a Christian is able to go for some time with no sin his life. I wish you., please come back to you thread and help me fight for the truth you are teaching. Love to you all, Doug

This is a mark of one truly born of God . they do not practice sin anymore, they do not make a habit of sinning, their way of life is obedience to God. 1 Jh, 3: 9 teaches this,"Whoever is born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." this can not be and absolute fact, but a general rule for the Christian, the Christian does not live in sin. He hates sin, sin grieves the Christian and he repents and walks the narrow way of holiness. All the Bibles agrees that no one can be sinless for yrs and yrs. Any one who thinks he can is sinning, and calling God a lair , 1Jh 1:9-10 . John's purpose is to keep us as sin free as possible but he say,If we sin ,we have a advocate with the Father to forgive us. 1Jh.2:1 John obviously knows we will sin. The others on your Romans thread need you. You ready messed up royally by abandoning us. we were all playing by your rules, you are the one who messed up. MY BROTHER< you need to come back an apologize. Love Hoffco

you can report my post here if am annoying..
But when some one says they have stopped sinning, does that mean all sins?or is it some sins they are seeing as problems because they think so?is vain talk also included?
Better not to judge if i don't Pray much,so it is to everyone..

No one says its not possible to get out of sinful ways, but its a growth..just stop preach fantasies..if you are fully freed you are not in this world anymore...
God sets us free when we come to Truth in Christ, and after that its a Growth to image of Christ. Its a narrow path, full of struggles...

and if that is so how do you deal in everyday life?i want to know so i can get out..
to be honest i had days very rare where i felt the overwhelming Presence of God and not troubled at all in anyway.
Wish i could be like that everyday, but i have to go through struggles till overcoming life in may areas of my life becomes secondary behavior..
Then i can say more and more that With God all things are possible!:)

:) I'm led by the Spirit Hoffco. You are free to call it what you will of course, but if my covenant for that thread was:

(a) for me to continue Romans to the end...the other half of that covenant was
(b) for others to honor the *guidelines* I'd put in place (at the beginning of the thread), of which I reminded others about them frequently to keep the thread a "study" and not a "debate".

...But it was clear others would not honor my repeat requests, so I was not obligated to continue the study.

Like God's covenant with Israel, a covenant is a two-way street. So the question is who broke the covenant of the thread? Who dishonored who? Was it me by not continuing, or was it others by not respecting the guidelines of my thread?

Of course you are free to continue the thread without me, but I can only do what I see my Father do.

With love.

There's no need to report your post...but you do not seem to believe me. So I ask you...

"Can you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?" (John 8:46)

You seem eager to prove me guilty instead of congratulating a brother in Christ...not that I seek yours or anyone else's approval (except my Father in heaven), but why do you seem particularly focused on finding fault with me? Beware what spirit you're of. There is only one spirit who accuses.

If telling others that we *can* cross over into the promise land and that "all things are possible with God *now* if we believe it is the truth and not a fantasy", then you must reexamine who is judging whom.

But I will not stop preaching this truth. I will not. I will not hold my tongue anymore. This is the truth. This is the gospel.
