How useful is money in your hands?

Certainly, you will say: “very much!”. Nonetheless, how great is your wisdom?

• Pro 17:16 -> “Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he has no sense?”.

If you have Jesus’ wisdom (and, chiefly, His love), fine. Otherwise, the only thing that money will do in your life is to open many doors toward perdition (ponder on Mat 7:13,14).

For instance: for those who are addicted in drugs, money will allow them to entangle faster in them until die of overdose. Who is addicted in comfort, will lose their heart:

• Hos 4:11 -> “whoredom, wine, and new wine, which take away the understanding.”.

Those who are addicted in wealth, hardly ever will get away from it:

• Ecc 5:10 -> “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.”.
• 1Ti 6:9,10 -> “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”.
• Pro 27:20 -> “Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied, and never satisfied are the eyes of man.”.

In the end, this only will bring to them perdition:

• Pro 11:24 -> “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.”.

It isn’t in vain that the Creator sent the Israelites to captivity:

• Amo 6:7 -> “Therefore they shall now be the first of those who go into exile, and the revelry of those who stretch themselves out shall pass away.””.

As we can see in Amos 6:1,4-6, they only cared about their own appetites. And everyone who is like this can’t serve Jesus. And, if this is the case, it is better to be in prison alone. At least, in this case, such a person won’t do harm to anybody and accrue, with this, more judgment for themselves and their family. Besides, it is better to be slave with Christ than free with Ha-Satan.

So, have a good day keeping your life free from love of money and being content with what you have, for Jesus said that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Mat 28:20; Heb 13:5,6). And, if you yearn for wealth, first increase in love and fear of the Creator (the beginning of the wisdom – Prov 9:10) so that you can make good use of the boons of the Eternal in your life. After all:

• Luke 12:47,48 -> “And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.”.
