Where to post this one. It is very hard to deal with.
Yesterday at my job, yes we all know I work for Tyson Foods. We were in a meeting with management.
They told us in our department, on our shift two people tested positive for COVID-19.
Since I am on the Safety Commitee, I had my say words in it and explained that yes we must take this seriously, that missing a days pay is no more important than a life.
Two people were sick, and still came in. A lead could hardly breathe. He had to go home too.
The precautions of this is very hazardous.
A lot of people from my department walked out.
Like I told Kristin, I feel like I am at war on the front lines. I feel like air am in Iraq with this thing, with my guns waiting to take action against an invisible enemy that had killed millions.
With all of this, the remaining people including myself at these plants are Heros this very day because we want to make you everyone can still eat.
The higher man told the lady who said she was out sick the day before that she must leave, and must leave now.
I chimed in and explained to the two team members is that if you can not find testing sights Google is your friend because it always has updated information.
The two people I am told, one of then is my close buddy who is MY line lead.
I was so upset I hit the metal container. However, neither me or it was hurt.
We are scared, but I also work closely with the Union. I am shop steward for the Local 400.
I WAS FERIOUS to see that one of the deciders rolled up onto the bar. That is there for a reason, and someone rolled it up. It is for our protection!!
