Make friendship only in Christ Jesus.

  • “But I desire you to be without anxiety. The one who is unmarried cares for the things that belong to the Lord, how to please the Lord.” (1Cor 7.32).

Who is single, should stick at how to please Jesus. There is no point clinging to one person before the will of Jesus turns out. Before we sort out plans, let’s know the secret of Jesus for us (Psalms 25.14). Or better: let’s settle in the “feet” of Jesus (Luke 10.39) in His resting-place (Psalms 91.1), partake of His counsel and hear His Word (Ezek 22.18).

As Peter, we only should move on at the word of Jesus (Luke 5.5). Who neglects to keep their heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4.23), certainly will run into grievous problems. On the other hand, who hang on to Jesus Christ and hear His voice will be blessing everywhere, inasmuch as the blessing will come over them and follow them (Deuteronomy 28.1,2).

So, before considering going out with someone, look on resting in Jesus and waiting for Him (Psalms 37.7). Contemplate leaving the world and its concepts and values and wait patiently for Jesus (Psalms 40.1). After all:

  • “Houses and riches are the inheritance of fathers, *and a prudent wife is from Jehovah.”” (Proverbs 19.14).

Have an extraordinary Sunday in Christ Jesus and be sure to hear His voice before acting.
