I'm very interested in the history of the events that led to the establishment of the Abrahamic beliefs (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) because I would like to suss out if any of the goals of our progenitors were realized. Some religious folk and some Archeologists believe that the Garden of Eden was perhaps to the Southeast of Basra, Iraq. The Sumerians were likely near the same area, but Northwest of Basra. Then there is of course Zoroastrianism in what would become modern day Iran. I would like to find out when "The Sons of God" of Genesis 6 existed. Some beliefs brand them as fallen Angels and for me that lacks credibility. There is so much more to find out.

Yes, it is a matter of conjecture because there is no hard information. It's also difficult to be sure where Eden was. Noah's flood no doubt rearranged the earth's topography dramatically.

Muslim beliefs are relatively new, founded in the 7th century. The moral code follows the Old Testament closely. Islam claims to be the superior religion based on a false claim that Ishmael was the true heir of Abraham and not Isaac. Islam is not an Abrahamic belief. The so-called god "Allah" predates Islam and was used by Arabs to refer to the supreme deity.

While the word "Allah" means God, it is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This is obvious because Islam's "Allah" calls on Muslims to murder Jews and Christians, which they do to this day. Lord Jesus said that the way Christians are treated is the way that they are treating Him.

I did not mention Islam in this post. Which God is which is an open debate that I do not choose to engage in. In my opinion there is ONE supreme God. I come at the Garden of Eden from an Archeological point of view, though we can not prove anything.

I am not 100% on whether the sons of God were fallen angels or not but I am sure they existed before mankind. According to to Genesis chapter 38 they were shouting, singing and giving God glory during the process of God causing dry land to appear. If you read verses 4 then 11 then 7 it is easier to ascertain what is going on without getting lost in the weeds. God is asking 'where were you when i caused the foundations of the earth, when I said to the waves no further shall you come while the sons of God were shouting for joy'. This all took place on Genesis day 3 when God caused dry land to appear and called it 'earth'...i.e. the foundations of the earth or the foundations of dry land. Man was not created until day six...so these sons of God were not men. Furthermore the garden of Eden was not wiped out by the flood but moved to the center of the earth by God, after it was cursed, to keep the tree of life away from fallen mankind. You can find that in luke...where Jesus refers to the garden as 'Abrahams bosom', again in Ezekiel 31:16 where God speaks of casting the pharaoh of Egypt into hell or hades so hard that his impact shook the neighboring land, trees, and twelve nations of Israel that were being comforted in the 'lower parts' of the earth in Eden. just for general info, the last name given to the garden of Eden or the garden of God can be found in revelations 2:7 where Jesus refers to it as the Paradise of God. You can be sure Paradise is the garden because the tree of life is only in the midst or middle of one place...the garden of Eden. if you have any other questions let me know...shawnnweed@yahoo.
