The very definition of "Sanctified" is that we are made Holy; God, after we have agreed with Him, begins the process of possessing us. Have we not yet gained Salvation? If we confess our sins and believe -- we have absolutely gained Salvation because it is on the history of Jesus that our Salvation rests, it is on the basis of God's grace that we have been offered it. But, living by faith means, where it is God's job to deal with sin our job is to deal with sins, by way of His empowering entitlement to us in our new creation thru His victory on a Cross.

We must, travel our own road to be soulfully aligned to His death and empowerment in our spiritual life. We must partake, using our will, to agree with God's finishing work in us. There are growing stages of infancy, to childhood, to adolescence, to adulthood, and along the way we have moments of revelation. Sanctification is one of these; an awareness of a thing that has happened to you in God's timing of growing you up in Himself. Some reach this stage quickly, others slowly, and some, somewhere in-between.

People will say glibly, "Oh yes, I have been crucified with Christ," while their whole life is stamped with self-realization; once identification with the death of Jesus has really taken place self-realization does not appear again. To be "crucified with Christ" means that in obedience to the Spirit granted to me at regeneration, I eagerly and willingly go to the Cross and crucify self-realization forever. The crucifixion of the flesh is the willing action of an obedient regenerate man or woman.

"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."
~ (Galatians 5:24) ~

Obey the Spirit of God and the Word of God, and it will be as clear as day what you have to do; it is an attitude of will towards God, an absolute abandon, a glad sacrifice of the soul in unconditional surrender. Then comes the marvelous revelation -- "I have been crucified with Christ" -- not, "I am being crucified," or, "I hope to be crucified sooner or later"; not, "I am getting nearer to the place where I shall be crucified with Christ," Or, "I am more crucified than not crucified with Christ," but, "I have been crucified with Christ," I realize it and know it. Thus, Sanctification does event itself...".....nevertheless I
live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me."
