Separated by the truth or united in the lie? (Part 1)

• “Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be innocent; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.” (Proverbs 11:21).

Many times, we see people stick up for unity. The meetings in the religion institutions are based on this word: “unity”. But how far the unity is important? And if the truth is important, what kind of unity is delightful to the Creator?

To exemplify this, let’s recall Babel’s Tower:

• “And they said, Come, let us build us a city and a tower, and its top in the heavens. And let us make a name for ourselves, *lest we be scattered upon the face of the whole earth*.” (Genesis 11:4).

See that they didn’t wish to be scattered. They yearned for being together so that they could reach the heavens (and, if you take heed carefully, you will see that they were seeking the Creator).

So, why, then, the Creator punished them?

Because they united to do exactly the opposite of what the Creator enjoined:

• “And God blessed them. And God said to them, be fruitful, and multiply and *fill the earth*, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.” (Gen 1:28).

And Jesus ratified it twice:

• “ *Therefore go and teach all nations*, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you…” (Mat 28:19,20);
• “And He said to them, *Go into all the world*, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.” (Mar 16:15).

In the mind of many of them, certainly it there was the idea that they were doing the right thing. Nonetheless, it is no use being sincere in the err. It is useless, for example, a sincere doctor, which love his patients and long for saving them, give the wrong diagnosis. The patient can even pass away.

Thus, it doesn’t mind how congruent and logical an idea can be: always research into the Holy Scripture in prayer to find out the truth. It doesn’t matter how much people believe in something: pray to Jesus, receive the Word with all readiness of mind and search on the Holy Scripture daily to see if those things are as they are being taught by the religious leaderes (Acts 17:11).

Remember Paul’s and Isaiah’s advice:

• “I marvel that you so soon are being moved away from Him who called you into the grace of Christ, to another gospel, which is not another, but some are troubling you, and desiring to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from Heaven preach a gospel to you beside what we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we said before, and now I say again, If anyone preaches a gospel to you beside what you have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-9).
• “To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them.” (Isaiah 8:20).

So, have a great day fleeing youthful lusts, and following righteousness, faith, love, peace, exclusively with *those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart* (2Timothy 2:22). Tomorrow we’ll carry on.
