  • “And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4.7).
  • “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you also are called in one body, and be thankful.” (Colossians 3.15).

The peace of Christ is the tenth foundation. It has to be the umpire in our hearts. That is to say, the peace of Christ must occupy so much room in our heart that, when we have to take a decision, we never give in to any different disposition that take away this peace.

  • But, wherein does this peace consist? If we look up on the dictionary, we will see that peace means to harmonize. So, when the Holy Scripture says we have peace with the Creator through our Lord Jesus (Romans 5.1), this means that, through Christ, it’s doable to there be harmony between us and the commandments of Christ (1John 5.3).

The will of Jesus never is to be something that we can’t receive nor practice (see Acts 16.20,21). On the contrary:

  • “So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, *work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work*, for his good pleasure.” (Php 2:12,13 - ASV)

In other words, if we don’t feel like living by the desire of Jesus, something is wrong, inasmuch as:

  • “For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace: because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be: and they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” (Romans 8.5-9).

So, if you are leaned to the things of the flesh, seek out in Christ be born again (John 3.3) and have an incomparable day.
