What are you fortifying yourself for?

• Amo 6:8,9 -> “The Lord GOD has sworn by himself, declares the LORD, the God of hosts: “I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it. And if ten men remain in one house, they shall die.”.

Israel fortified themselves like Babylon, for the same purport:

• Hab 2:9 -> “Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house, to set his nest on high, to be safe from the reach of harm!.

Firstly, we need to strengthen ourselves in Jesus, and this aiming, not to get rid of the evil, but to help people to overpower the evil that exists inside them.

The best way to avoid the evil in our life is:

1 – to do Jesus’ will. After all:

• Rom 8:28 -> “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”.
• Psa 34:9 -> “Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!”.
• Isa 40:31 -> “ but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”.
• Heb 13:5,6 -> “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” ”.

2 – to help people around us. After all, as everyone only can speak pursuant to the abundance that exists in their heart (Mat 12:34,35; Luke 6:45) and the mouth controls all the body (James 3:2), therefore, if everyone around us is fine, they won’t be able to hurt us. After all, each one only can sow the seed they have. If they are full of boons, this is what they will grant us.

I am used to joking saying that, if someone full of good things in their heart wishes to hit me with a stone, fine because, if the person that only have good things, what kind of stone they will use to hit me? “Diamond, sapphire, emerald, amethyst, etc. If I don’t die, I will become rich.

Furthermore, what the Holy Scripture says?

• Pro 17:17 -> “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”.

So, instead of keeping the evil at bay, let’s benefit of the bad moments to help people (Ps 126:5,6) and allow them to be our neighbor (Luke 10:24) and, who knows, to become our friend, brother.

Have a great day growing in grace, mercy, goodness, peace of spirit, happiness of heart and in everything that can make the life of everyone around you better and closer to Christ.
