What is your priority: people or material things?

• Amo 5:11 -> “Therefore because you trample on the poor and you exact taxes of grain from him, you have built houses of hewn stone, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted pleasant vineyards, but you shall not drink their wine.”.

Most of the people says that love is most important than good materials. Nonetheless, they invest most of the time acquiring ken, money, fame, power or investing in their career. And the problem with this is that, who prioritize these things, inevitably, will contempt, explore and even mistreat people around them (chiefly the poor), beyond neglect attention and fondness toward family and friends.

And the outcome is inevitable:

• Pro 17:13 -> “If anyone returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.”.

I know that this, at first, can sound very harsh. Nonetheless, do evil isn’t necessarily something grotesque or bizarre. From the moment that someone (for instance, our acquainted), do something good for us and we pay with disdain, scorn, complaining or even through a “simple” distancing (having little or no time to a healthful relationship), this is evil:

• Pro 3:27 -> “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.”.

But how can you give, for instance, to your spouse what is good, if you occupied yourself with many things?

• 1Co 7:5 -> “Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.”

How can you hear Jesus speaking or even crying through someone if you are like Martha?

• Luk 10:38-42 -> “Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.””.

Note that it was Martha welcomed Jesus. Nonetheless, it is useless to invite Jesus to be part of our life if we aren’t with alacrity to receive Him as a illustrious guest. Jesus isn’t our employee or slave, but the Lord to whom we need to serve readily:

• Luk 12:36 -> “and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks.”.

So, have a good day, always prompted to welcome Jesus (and His body) as the most special person in our life (Rev 3:20).
