I struggle with constantly sinning; I am asking you all to pray for me. But not just for me, for all those who struggle in their lives daily with their walk with God.

Pray also I would find a good accountability partner and someone who will encourage one another in the things of God, in reading the Holy Scriptures, and being there for Christ and in His path.

This accountability need not be 'private', but I'd willingly submit myself to more mature believers in the faith. I also pray to encourage those who are reading this and who want a closer walk with God - find peace in Christ. Amen. :)

This is a brave post, and I will be with you in prayer. We all have our weaknesses, and the devil sure knows how to use them.

I wouldn't list my weaknesses here, because I am deeply ashamed of them. But I know God sees me, and if Jesus hadn't died for my sins, I know where I would be heading. What has happened the past year, is that I have become more aware of those weaknesses, and I have learned to rebuke the devil's attempts to trick me to fall. I am humbled and grateful that God has showed me just that. And taught me how mighty His name is when rebuking the evil.

I am not sure if this helps you, but I will pray for you. And please pray for me, too. We all need to be made accountable once in a while.

God has chosen to operate His work from the basis of faith. "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:2) is God's prescribed order of victory for the Believer over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil. This means that the Believer must place and maintain proper Faith the size of a mustard seed exclusively in Christ (who He is) and His Finished Work (what He has done), i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. Why? Because whatsoever that is not faith is sin. By doing so this enters the Believer into justification and progressive sanctification that gives the Holy Spirit the legal means to keep all commandments and all laws that is impossible for us to do. The Holy Spirit renews the mind (By replacing the "wisdom of the world" with the truth of God's word.) when Faith is placed and maintained in Christ and Him Crucified. Why? Because we are now operating in the spirit. The presenting of your body as a living sacrifice and the renewing of the mind is not a Christian discipline nor a work of labor, but an act of Faith to believe only - daily. No Believer can fix the flesh with the flesh. All fruits that are added to the leaves of the Believer must be done by the Holy Spirit or you enter the works of the flesh (Gal. 5:19-21). In other words, the sin nature that was made silence (not eliminated) when you were born again becomes active.

...the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).

The new creation continues to live with corruption (the sin nature) (1 Corinthians 15:53) until the rapture of the Church. However, the younger (the new creation) is greater than the elder (the sin nature) (Genesis 25:23). Why? Because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4, Romans 6). We are still dying which shows that the sin nature lives in us. If the sin nature did not live in the Christian we would not age or die.

The Holy Spirit (the Power of God) only works strictly within the parameters of the "Finished Work" i.e., "The Cross of Christ", i.e., "The Blood of Jesus," which demands that our Faith be exclusively in the Cross of Christ. The reason is simple, that's were the price was paid, and the victory was forever won (Romans 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 2:2; Gal. 5; Gal. 6:14; Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 2:14-15).

For whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)

The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus gives the Believer victory over sin, the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

Victory over sin: Romans 8:2
Victory over the world: Galatians 6:14 ; 1 John 5:4
Victory over the flesh: Galatians 5:24
Victory over the Devil: Hebrews 2:14 ; Colossians 2:15

How does a Believer maintain faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross? By just believing in Jesus (who He is) and what He accomplished at Calvary Cross. Romans 4:5 - Galatians 2:19-21 NKJV - 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV - Colossians 2:11-15 NKJV

Hi Peter,

I saw your post and wanted you to know that I will pray for you right now. I appreciate your honesty and bravery for sharing your struggles and asking for prayers and help. You're definitely not alone in this. I too am struggling with my sins and weaknesses but instead of turning them over to God, I turn away and find distractions from my problems. Please pray for me as well as I could definitely need accountability as well.

a long time ago, i tried to give up all sinning all at once, it was a catastrophe. Then i learned to take one sin and purge it out of my life. When that was accomplished i would take another sin and work on that specific sin to get rid of it as well. Now after over 40 years getting rid of sin out of my life, i can now say i do all things to please Jesus Christ, and i do not knowingly and/or willingly commit any sin against my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The thing is, take one sin, and get it out of your life. then work on another sin and get that one out of your life. Sins that i, with the help of Jesus Christ, purged from my life, to name a few are: anger, smoking, sex, porn, lusting, selfishness, unforgiveness. Things i have given up to keep me from falling back into sin, are TV, friends, public events (unless it is Christian related like Promise Keepers, etc), relationships (celibate now for over 10 years). like i said, i now do all things to please Jesus Christ. i have given up the world and the things in the world, my thoughts are on Jesus continually, i have learned to hate sin. knowing that it is sin that put Christ on the cross in the first place. Sin is disobedience, All sin is selfishness. If i am thinking of Jesus and others and not my own self, what sin would i be committing?

Knowing Scriptures helps a whole lot also. knowing that there is no sin that Jesus does not allow a path out of, and that Jesus does not allow you to be tempted above that which you can handle, helps.

Thoughts like, if Jesus can give His life for me, should i not be willing to give up list a sin for Him?
Also remembering what God told me one day when He said "There is no sin that you do that you can't cease from, therefore be prepared to answer for yourself on Judgement Day why you did not cease from it" helped me also.

Your desire to quit sinning is conviction from the Holy Ghost which is working inside of you, believe it or not that is a good thing. Most people have a reprobate mind which continue to live in sin and are no longer convicted to try to quit from them, thinking they are still Saved and going to Heaven, even though they continue to live in sin, these have a reprobate mind and are no longer convicted of their sins. As long as you are convicted by your sins there is hope for you.

The best way to fight temptation was revealed to us by Jesus our Lord and Savior, when He used Scriptures to fight off the temptations that satan was throwing at Him. This is why i read the entire Bible front to back over 80 times in my life and continue to do so, knowledge of the Bible is a sword against satan and his tactics. Sin is evil. Obedience is Good.

Good Trees ONLY produce good fruits. But how many people in this generation claim to be a good tree, yet they produce few bad fruits? That is what i am saying, work on getting one sin (bad fruit) out of your life, then work on that other sin, until one day you are ONLY producing good fruits and no bad fruits at all. With men this is impossible, but with Jesus helping you with HIS Power and His Strength, it is possible to do. If i can do with His Help, i am certain you can do it with His help too.

I was once in a church that believed we lost our salvation upon every sin, and we had to "get saved" all over again. What this brought about was their refusal to admit their sins, and they soundly reprimanded me for admitting my sins.

Covering their sins up brought the church into complete degradation. It no longer exists. The uniquely beautiful little building is now rented.

When we claim we are sin-free, we stymie G-D's work in our lives.

You will never get rid of sin 100%

That is why Jesus died on the cross, he was the ultimate and perfect sacrifice.

Now, that is not a "Sin all you want for free" card, but essentially keep working on your faith and your spiritual growth willingly and completely.

Everything else will take care of itself, the Holy Spirit's voice will grow louder as you grow spiritually, therefore you will feel more and more accountable for the sins of your life.

Eventually you will let go of many sins, but not all.

If a person does not sin all day long. Are they evil if they say "Today I was sin free"?

Those who claim Jesus is their Master, yet they willingly obey His enemy and commit sin, is that not stymie G-D's work in our lives?

Sin is evil, wicked, darkness. They are things that stymie G-D's work in our lives. But for a person to say they are sin free because they did not sin, is not something that stymie G-D's work.

i have not sinned one sin today, does that stymie G-D's work because i did not obey satan at all today? Really?

Where is that written? If not written in the Word of God then it is your opinion, yes? Do you believe Scriptures that teach all things are possible to them that believe?

That is why Jesus died on the cross, he was the ultimate and perfect sacrifice.
Jesus was the ultimate and perfect sacrifice for our PAST sins, as it is written:

Rom_3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

So then when a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and they GET SAVED, all their PAST sins are forgiven unto them, Jesus pad the penalty for all those past sins. All those sins that you done prior to accepting Jesus Christ are thrown into the sea of forgetfulness, never to be remembered or brought up again. But after you are Saved, you pay for the consequences of your own sins, you reap what you sow After you got Saved. Jesus does not continually pay for your sins, He does not continually go to the cross for you, nor does He daily take whips for you. YOU pay for your own sins after you accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

Yes Jesus can and does forgive a person when they repent, but YOU still have to pay the consequences of that sin, even though You are forgiven of that sin. That is why it is written, if you sow to the flesh of the flesh you SHALL reap corruption. So then if you sow to the flesh (pornography, fornication, adultery, etc ) Jesus does not pay for those sins, YOU will pay for them. God does not lie, if you sow to the flesh you WILL suffer corruption in that flesh. God is NOT a Liar. So this generation continue to sow to the flesh and repent of it and think that Jesus has paid for it, and that you will NOT suffer in the flesh even though you choose to sow to the flesh, and see if during the Tribulation Period you are not suffering greatly in the flesh. And when this happens to you, do not fall away from the Faith, which many will do during that time, endure to the end and you shall be Saved, take the suffering in your flesh, know it is a punishment from God for all the sowing to the flesh that you have done AFTER you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, know it is His Word and accept it, endure it to the end, do not turn away from God, do not fall away from God. Remember these words when Tribulation comes and you are suffering. God is not a liar, if you sow to the flesh you SHALL reap corruption in that flesh. So don't fall away from God when God makes good on His Word, and you are suffering corruption in the flesh. Pray to God "I deserve this, because of all the sinning I have done in my flesh, I still Love you, and I will endure this corruption" Don't fall away like billions of Typical Christians will indeed do when the hour of temptation comes upon them and they start suffering in the flesh EXACTLY like the Word of God says they will. But now you know the Truth. i know that when Tribulation starts that i will suffer in my flesh, because i have sowed to the flesh much, and i know His Word will stand True, and i know that one day i will suffer in the flesh. And i will endure it, because i know and understand the WHY it is happening to me. Many, and i say many, when they will suffer in the flesh during that time, will not understand the WHY of it, and will fall away from God, They will not understand because they held on to false doctrines that taught Jesus pays for all their sins past, present, and future. Which thing can not be found any where in Scriptures, it is a false doctrine that satan will do all in his power to keep people believing, because he knows during that time many Typical Christians will fall away from the Faith and then belong to him.

Now you know the Truth, and even though you will absolutely not believe it now, it is my hope and prayer that you will remember these words above when they start coming to pass upon you.

Tell me, which sin can't you possibly cease from?

Jesus told a man And a woman to "Go and sin no more"
We are also told to "Awake to Righteousness and Sin not"
We are also told to "Shall we continue to sin? God forbid NO"

Again, what sin do you think would be impossible to cease from.

Those who give up sinning, will indeed lose their life, their friends, their family, EVERYTHING. Learn to abhor sin now, while we are still living during the day. You have been warned.

Those who understand that they are not perfect understand the Scriptures very differently from those who believe themselves to be perfect, Dave. Apparently, in your opinion, you and others can be perfect. I don’t believe that of anyone.J

In my opinion, the one who, at the end of the day, declares, “I have not sinned today,” stands guilty of several sins before the hearers. There would be a minimum of two hearers of that statement: the speaker and the Sovereign L-RD G-D Almighty. S/he has lied to both.

Another named sin, in this situation would be pride.
Then there would be any sins of commission, omission, etc. done through the day.

It’s just not possible for anyone other than G-D to be perfect, as usually defined. If we could live perfectly, then G-D, being sin-free, is no One special, and upon salvation, we would have no further need of Him. We would, ourselves, be gods. :)

The problem comes in when folks think every move is a sin.

Paul taught to consider ourselves dead to sin.. teaches what that is and how to do so. Christ died and rose and we gained the ability thru that to live triumphant..

When you believe you're helpless and will always sin, you have bought a lie.. the scripture is quite clear when you seek to know truth.. truth not taught truth. Revealed truth.

as long as we live and abide in the flesh, 'we will sin' to some degree', but for those of us
whom our Saviour calls, will live the rest of our lives only desiring to 'overcome' our
'old-ways' and only seek to obey and seek to serve and do His Will in every way and
for the rest of our lives, because He has put upon our hearts the power of His Love and Sacrifice
that He surrendered/over-came for us, for the heavenly power and Gracious Love that He has bestowed
upon us...
