Hi Brothers and Sisters, I'm new here, I decided to join this Christian Chat to have new friends and family in Christ. I'm married but my husband is divorcing me. I've been struggling for 6 months now. My husband hurt me so much but everyday I'm praying to God to help me to love him and respect him. I was cheated but don't want to get mad at him at all because I don't have the right. I'm not a perfect person, but I should say I try to live with the journey of Jesus Christ. God said if we want to follow him we're willing to deny ourselves, be willing to deny ourselves and be willing to be cheated. I don't have a lot of friends whom I could talk about God. I want to be with people who doesn't only know about God but walk with God too. I'm spending my time reading the Bible everyday, watching movies that would help my faith to grow more and more. I love my God with all my heart and I hold on to his promise that he will rescue me and fortify me. I'm thankful with the brokenness, suffering, and cross I'm taking up everyday. I'm happy I found this site and looking forward to meet new friends

I don't think as a Christian that your obligated to respect someone who hurts you, and I believe you have every right to get mad at someone who cheated on you. Remember that Jesus got angry when the merchants were using the Temple for commerce, and the anger of God was demonstrated repeatedly in the old testament. You were wronged, your husband broke his vows, so feeling hurt and upset are natural responses. Denying ourselves doesn't mean to smile when your victimized or used as a punching bag. Your husband committed adultery, God doesn't like it and neither should you.... jmo

A husband that loves his wife does not even think about cheating on his wife let alone actually do it. Now, he wants the divorce? Go ahead and give it to him. You can never trust him again and trust is the foundation of a marriage. There are a lot of others on this site in similar situations so please know that you're not alone. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

Hi Marie,
Really sorry to hear about your husband. But if he has betrayed you and then wants to divorce, it would appear that (a) he does not love God and (b) he does not love you. So it could be all for the best if he departs and leaves you in peace.

Perhaps you made a mistake in marrying this person, but since you love God and wish to live for Him, God can also provide you with a spouse who is a genuine Christian and will love you as Christ loved the Church. So think of this as a blessing and put the past behind. The Bible says that if you are the offended party, you can remarry.

Welcome, marie!

I was sad to hear a spouse's unfaithfulness, but glad for ur fighting spirit, and saying the battle is the Lord's. I am sure if u are in the Philippines, or if ur spouse is Filipino... but to those who recommend that marie leave her husband, you may not know that we have no divorce in the philippines, and divorce is not a 'given' or Sop. The fact she is praying for her husband to come to his senses and return, makes me want to pray more with her, that God grant the desire of her heart, with a truly repentant husband who also learns to love the Lord and the woman he first married.

Hope u find those friends here, and grow with them (us=) in the Lord.

I will pray for you and your husband as well. Enduring infidelity is so hard. I don't think you are wrong to do all that you can to save your marriage. I think you have to in order to know you have done as much as you could to save it. Sometimes showing some one grace- especially when they don't deserve it, can spur change in a relationship. That being said, set limits on what you are willing to endure for your own sake. Never let anyone break you spiritually. No matter what happens I pray for God's will and peace for the both of you. Hang in there and a sincere, God bless you.
