I just need to dump somewhere. My 24 year old nephew recently took his life. His parents were home, it was awful. The emotional pain, watching my brother and sister-in-law suffer is almost unbearable. Then yesterday our son called to tell me he and his wife are having problems. I want to curl up in a ball and disappear. My faith is being tested. I struggle with depression, have all my life. Taking some time off work. Just need support.

I am so terribly sorry for all that has happened, and for your pain.

I wish I could just take it away. But I can tell you that you are loved by your Father in Heaven and your brothers and sisters in Christ here.

Holy Father, I lift up this whole family to You. Please heal their pain, and let them feel Your Presence in unmistakable ways.

In Jesus Name I pray.

Mima, that's horrible to hear. Feel free to write more if it will relieve you. What else can we do for you?
Take heart, the problems that your son and his wife have may still be happily resolved, while they live, God willing He can do everything. Don't allow fear to overcome you just yet. Are they Christian? Praying for them all that God will touch them with comfort and help them deal with what's going on in the best way.
Also that He will heal and comfort you with His presence and strengthen you to be able to stand and find some peace right now when it's most difficult to be at peace.
Hugs.

"Your words have been heard. And, I pray of God's 'presence' to be upon your family,
with comfort, strength and hope. We are living in times never before witnessed, and
let us pray we strive to find peace and calm through Christ our Lord, and to know the
'presence' of the Holy Spirit shall be our refuge, to help us with living life here in the now."
'Amen'

Thank you everyone. My son is not a Christian. I am so very tired, emotionally and physically. I’m having extreme anxiety at night when trying to get to sleep. That is when my brother text me that my nephew had “killed himself”. I work in mental health and don’t see how I can return anytime soon. It’s a very high pressure job. I feel myself slipping into depression also. My head knows the things to do and think, I’ve been trained for this. Yet.....my mind can’t sit still long enough to pray nor does it want to right now.

I'll keep praying for you,
I am sure that God knows and understands the struggle your body puts up against you because your whole being is distressed right now. Not all prayer is speaking organized words or having a still mind. Just you trying to lean on God right now is a prayer in and of itself. Doing as much as you are able is good enough, to God, He is full of kindness compassion and understanding flowing out to you.
Jesus give Mima some peace rest and comfort, amen

I have an understanding of what you are going through and my prayers are with you and the family during this horrible ordeal. I struggle with depression as well. Taking some time off from work is probably good medicine right now.. Hopefully, you will find comfort, support and understanding from the members of this site. God Bless You.

I am saddened to read of your sorrows. I cannot imagine.
I think it is good you are taking time off work for your own sake. Take care of you.
There are platitudes I could offer that really won't help but to be just platitudes.
I will say from personal experience of loss not by suicides in the family, honor every emotion you're feeling no matter what it is. And don't feel guilty when you feel it.
I think this is God's way of allowing for us to release what sudden unexpected tragedy does to us on every level. Even those we don't know are there.
If you feel like screaming, scream! If you feel like beating on something, beat it till you are worn out.
If you feel like crying, cussing up a storm, do it. Release it. Don't swallow it down because it can do more harm being suppressed. And don't feel guilty at all for all that you feel. God's seen it all.

I know all who love you are praying for you as you are for those who suffered this loss along with you.
You're going to come through this. It takes time. No hurry.

Take care of you. And give yourself to those who need you as you feel able. Don't feel as if you have to wear yourself out to be there for everyone else.

That's my advice from experience.

God makes sure you're not alone in this.

Thank you. There’s quite the range of emotions right now. Fear is a big one. What if I’m not strong enough to go back to my job? What if my husband pressures me to? Theres numbness and inability to do much of anything right now. I care for my elderly parents who live here. I’m trying to be there for their pain too plus their very real needs. I’m my brothers(My nephews father) only sibling, he needs me, daily. I’m doing the two hour drive every other day sometimes everyday right now to be there. His wife needs me, she has no family near. I’m grateful I can do this and take time off work(I’m self employed) but I’m so tired still. The world is a mess right now and that is adding to it. I opened my Bible today. Psalms. I need hope.

Hello Mima I am so just so very sorry to hear such sad news from you about your nephew taking his own life.So young too at just 24 years old...I just cant begin to imagine the deep sorrow and utter brokeness you must all be going through right now. There must be a thousand questions left unanswered in your minds regarding you nephew. What when,why,how...why didn't he...makes it all the more traumatically painful.
Toppled with your son and his wife having problems between then...it just proving too much for you to process it all.Kinda reminds me of job when different situations came at him in different directions all at once.
Your depression would most definitely be compounded by all that going on and taking some time off work is a good thing.Yoy have a lot to deal with.Let God take the weight of it all my dear for sometimes we just dont have the know how or resources to know what to do or how to cope.
Just take each moment..moment by moment..coz each moment has it's own weight to carry with Gods help.
There may be also moments when you need to allow yourself to be broken as trying to be there for everyone can also make you kinda begin to die inside.
Will be praying for you all..🙏🏻🙏🏻😊😊

Sorry to hear about the hard times your family going through

when tired (I've been there...not being able to even get up) I learned God wants me to physically rest so He can restore me. And He asks for just one day at a time.
I cant imagine a 2 hour drive everyday on top of that. Do you need to do that or can they come to you (or can you get a ride/uber)

You have just so much going on...You can only do the best you can given the circumstances at this time..You are a Christian..but you are still just a precious human being too.I do feel for you and you just need some time to also be able to have a little time for yourself for the sake of your wellbeing.
The fears you have are justified and may still create that disturbance within you....yet they don't reflect the reality of what God can and will do for you.God is larger that life itself and our prayers are most definatley with you at this time...
We cared about you and want Gods best for you all at such a difficult time..🙏🙏🙏🙏💕

So very sorry for your loss. My family has been though several tragedies and this song has helped me through. Sometimes music helps healing when words cannot. I hope you find comfort from caring people here, who will all be praying for you.

Even when you can't pray God hears the groanings of our heart and spirit. Hang in there please, time heals everything. God is with you every step of the way

Dear @Mima21 ,

I am so deeply sorry for all that has happened. I wish I could give you the biggest hug and just let you be still in the midst of all that pain. Know that our Father is with you every moment through His precious Holy Spirit and that He will get you and your family through this. I am praying for you and your family. Please try your best to find the time to be still in quiet with the Lord... He is the One you need most right now. 🙏💗

Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever

And remember:

Revelation 21:4
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Sharing this just in case as well:

Sending you my love and support and prayers. In Jesus' name.
