I am not sure how to explain what I am feeling,I have been a Christian for a short time and up until a couple weeks ago I felt like I had actually communicated with God and that He was hearing my prayers.
I now feel like when I pray that noone is listening,I don't feel the love that I felt before.I don't know, maybe it is satan at work trying to win me back to his side. What should I do?

I know exactly what you mean, I've had that feeling since the first of this year. The best thing I can say is that obviously the Lord is still there and listening so don't get discouraged. It could just be a phase, or even a spiritual battle, and it will get better. I promise. Serving the Lord is not always the gravy train, unfortunately. Just continue to do the best you can.

My friend , we all go thru periods of time when we 'feel' like God isnt there or isnt listening BUT remember , He is . We walk by faith not by sight ...or feelings . He will never leave us nor forsake us ,thats His promise and we stand on His word and keep walking. Ive been living the christian life for some time now, The feeling will return but dont ever learn to rely on just the feeling, rely on His word and His promise, He is here always :) Gb

Keep praying and talking to God. We don't go by how we feel. We go by what we know. We know God loves us very much. And we love him very much. We all go thr dry times. Its up to us to keep our spirit up. Its a big job we have to keep our spirit up. Happy music what ever it takes. Do it. The devil will come after u in the dry times. Tell him to go to hell in the name of Jesus. We don't always feel great. But we always remember God loves us and wants the very best for us. Thank God. Some people are being bombed. Think how you are blessed. God bless love

Well the most important things that you need to hold onto is reading your Bible daily and praying to God. Most people don't realize how much God wants us to be honest with Him. Tell Him how you feel, He's not going to strike you down .. He's going to correct you, thats what He's there for. I found out this year that when ever I pray to God i just need to be honest with Him. It's ok to tell Him .. " Look God i didn't agree with that or etc." There's no harm in talking to your FATHER in Heaven personally. Thats why He is our Father so that we can communicate with Him freely and honestly .

So don't shy away from prayer...even if you feel like you're just rambling on , just stop for a second and just laugh at yourself .. because ultimately that is a sign of wanting to pray a perfect prayer, and the only perfect prayer God loves is an honest one. Just tell Him " God I have no idea what i'm talking about, could you help me?"

Honest prayers will make God move in your life and He will change you and make you stronger, and I have witnessed that this year. It was an awesome feeling too. And i loved just speaking my mind to God about how I felt about our relationship ( which is what Jesus did and we need to follow Jesus' example)

You also need to pay attention to your Word. I was also at a point where i only prayed most of the time, but didn't read my Bible. That affected me and ultimately i have some downfalls and set backs. But i finally i got back on track and I am reading my Bible.. not often as i should.. but keep me lifted up on that.

So definately you should stay with the Word - God's daily bread. And prayer. Don't feel defeated. Let satan know who is in charge over your life and that he is under your feet. You do have the power to have all principalities of evil and darkness under your feet. You do have control over them and you can tell them to leave you alone in the name of Jesus, and they have no choice but to obey , because you proclaimed it in Jesus' name.

Stay strong and proclaim that you are a righteous man in Christ who loves God with all his heart and make sure you put on the armor of God everyday.

pinkstix56, couldn't agree more.
Also... many people have said, "I tried to live the Christian life but I failed." sounds like the person made a noble effort? the key word is *try*. We try, we ultimately fail. So....We don't try. try is a word that means we are making the effort on our own, trying to think of ways we can be happy, trying to come up with a better way of worshiping God. It might sound counterintuitive but go to God in prayer, lean on him, admit you don't know your way, tell him honestly that when/if you don't know what to do and what the next step is. This is "not trying." God answers prayers and he may lead you to a group of believers or just one believer in passing who will strengthen you and encourage you and help you to see that the Bible is not words, but is truth that is living and active, refreshing and pure. Or God may answer your prayer by leading you to a certain verse or passage in the Bible - that has happened with me many times. Sometimes I read methodically and sometimes I just "flip around." Sometimes (not always) when I'm flipping around :) I come across a verse that absolutely hits the nail on the head, so to speak. It was just what I needed even before I knew that I needed it.
So God knows what you need - even before you pray. This is another comfort. Nothing is impossible for our God who loves us more than the sky is high and the earth is wide. We cannot imagine or comprehend his love. It is awesome to be known by God.
Blessings!!

Are you feeling alone purely on the spiritual side, or is it a wider feeling? Life is lonely, there is no getting around it. Even if you're surrounded by God and people, it's often tricky to establish 'heart-felt' communication. Both spiritually and generally, it is something we need to inwardly look at and outwardly work towards resolving. I'm not sure if this really helps, but I'm not entirely sure exactly what you meant.

Have you ever read the "Footprints" poem... look it up. God is ALWAYS there for you, whether you are a Christian or not. He NEVER leaves you alone. Remind yourself that He has plans for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you. And when you are feeling particulary alone, that is the perfect time to spend in prayer and meditation.
