I have and I give it 10/10.....that's not a critical review, its just my feeling, I'm not saying the movie is perfect. I loved so much about this movie, It proclaims the Gospel but there isn't one scene that takes place inside a church, we all know God is everywhere and that Jesus is Lord of all creation, not just the sanctuary during worship.

I also love the fact that the question of race is completely left alone....yes there are both African American and White characters in the movie, but each is a reflection of the One who created them, and that's what this movie's central theme is, identity.

One of the best scenes in the movie has a teacher from a private Christian school visiting with a gentleman in the hospital who has lost his sight to diabetes, and is suffering from end stage kidney disease. The sick guy is Thomas, the HS teacher is John. Thomas has heard that John is struggling, all the best players from his basketball team are leaving because the town's biggest employer just shut down operations, he and his wife (also a teacher) have had their pay cut by 10%. And now he has to coach cross country, he's angry to the point of being devastated....

Thomas asks him, if he had to define himself....who he is, what's the first thing that comes to mind. After a nano-second of consideration he says, "I'm a basketball coach". Thomas asks him "if that's stripped away, what then"? John's answer..."I'm also a history teacher". "And we take that away, who are you"? John thinks a second and says "I"m also a husband and a father". Thomas doesn't let go, he says..."And God forbid that should ever change....but if it did? Who are you"? John is annoyed and says he doesn't understand this game....Thomas tells him its not a game, after John says he's a white American male Thomas asks him, "Is there anything else"??? John thinks for a second and says..."I'm a Christian"....Thomas asks how important that is and John tells him its very important.....and Thomas says, "Interesting that its so far down your list, it doesn't sound like the Lord has first place".

I might not have that 100% but its close.....I cannot reccommend this movie to strongly. In a culture that is so hostile to Christianity this movie is something every follower should see I belive, and take a friend or family member:

I like the scene were husband and wife have a fight but then they forgive each other and reconcile. Thats something you dont see much on screen.

What usually happens on screen is that husband and wife fight and they take revenge on each other and someone ends up having an affair and or dying. And nobody admits they were wrong.

There are so many tear jerker moments in this movie, that scene was one of them for me.....if you're a sentimental and soft hearted person bring tissues, if you're sentimental, soft hearted AND a Christian, bring a box :)

Thankfully the movie's makers are skilled at their craft and there a number of scenes where I let out genuine belly laughs....good producers and directors know that audiences need to come up for air after things get very emotional.

This movie will make you laugh and cry and cheer.

The scene I referenced is up on youtube now. Take note of John's reaction when Thomas asks him..."last time you were here, you said you'd pray for me....Did you"? This scene is so incredibly well done, but maybe I think that because I identify too much with the character playing the basketball coach.....the flaws in him I see in myself:
