My dear brethren, let us take great care with the Christian music we choose to listen to, as source of inspiration when we come to worship and praise GOD. Because, sadly, not all who profess to be Christian and to be inspired by HIS Holy Spirit are such. Many are those who deceive, all for the name of riches, fame and vain glory.

I have become drawn to the subject of "false teachers" these last few weeks. And along the course of listening to sermons and preachings on this topic, I also got to read and hear about Christian music made by artists who profess to be Christian, and yet are greatly influenced by secular artists that are known supporters of satanic doctrine. I was greatly saddened and appalled by what I discovered, since I have grown to respect those artists and to love their songs for GOD and the church. But now, I've become even more wary of what and who I listen to regardless of who they claim to be, and what their song is about.

I found this article that talks about Christian Metal lead vocal Tim Lambesis for the band "As I Lay Dying", where he confessed he is an atheist who just pretended to be a Christian to sell records, and that a lot of professing Christian bands today are also doing the same thing. He was arrested and sentenced to prison for attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife. I don't know if the people here on CC already know this news, but I'm sharing the link here for the benefit of those who are unaware.

As I Lay Dying Singer Tim Lambesis Said He Became Atheist But Kept Claiming to Be Christian to Keep Selling Music to Faithful

Here is a link to an article that discusses how "Christian" Christian Heavy Metal is. I hope you will take the time to read on it, too.

A lot of our brethren here say that we shouldn't limit GOD, thinking HE couldn't reach out to the lost using Christian Rock music. But in truth, by thinking that GOD needs to use Rock music to reach these people is actually thinking HIS gospel couldn't reach the lost rockers effectively by other means. So thinking that GOD would need Rock music is actually limiting and putting HIM in a box, thinking we know better, don't you think? Coz we think we know what's appealing to the lost, so is that how we draw them to GOD? I don't think that's the right way to choose.

GOD is GOD. Nothing is impossible for HIM, and HE is capable of using anything to work for our good and for HIS glory. But that doesn't mean HE will conform to this world in order to do that. Even though HE came to the earth and became one of us through our LORD Jesus Christ, talked and supped and spent time with sinners, HE still set Himself apart by HIS thoughts and deeds, remaining in complete righteousness and holiness, exhibiting the fruits of the Spirit, and not giving in to the temptations of the flesh. HE set an example for us. We are called to be different and to be set apart from the world, and it is actually for our sake, because the ways of the world can corrupt us and affect our walk with GOD. And when that happens, our life's testimony as GOD's followers is affected as well. We are viewed as hypocrites and double-minded people because they don't see us as being any different than how they do things in this world. We mustn't let that happen.

1 John 2:15-16 King James Version (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Romans 12:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 4:8 King James Version (KJV)

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I hope and pray that, by HIS grace, we would all learn to worship HIM and love HIM just as we should, in the manner that is pleasing and honoring to HIM before HIS Church and the rest of the world. For HE deserves the very best, the utmost and most heartfelt praise and worship and declaration of love that we could ever give to HIM!!!

Ephesians 3:20-21 King James Version (KJV)

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

I knew Lambesis would be fodder for all the haters. Ironically they all point to him out of countless others that they can't point at and accuse. But i guess when you need to prove you're right, you have to focus on the one evidence you can find.
