My sister records music, and has an album on itumes. I sing in the shower, and I used to play the violin.

I sing and play piano/keys, but I do NOT write. I'm not good at it -- everything comes out sounding banal and unoriginal.

Not really, sigh33n. I learned long ago that I do not have a talent for composition. So I don't really even try anymore. I did write a hymn a few months ago, but, again, I felt it was uninspiring.

I played quite a few instruments while in band in high school: Clarinet, Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Xylophone, Piano and some trumpet/trombone. In fact, we won the State Marching Band title my Freshman year and came in 2nd my Senior year (by 1 point!). Not a small feat in Texas because the amount of schools. Some of my best memories!

If you put a piece of tinfoil over a comb, you can hum on it like a kazoo.

But I'm more serious about the arts now than I used to be... I've upgraded to a real kazoo.

I played the clarinet in primary school (from Years 4-7). I played the drums in high school (in Years 9 and 10). I don't play anything now, I'm not musically gifted (practiced a lot but didn't improve much, especially with the drums). I've been told I have a good singing voice but I haven't done anything with it, besides praise and worship (not leading) and singing randomly with friends or family.

Even Oxen EP | Berean Records

Here's an EP I put on Bandcamp at least

I really like the sound. Good job, way better than I normally expect links to EPs people post on random forums to be! :)

One question, though, and this may because I'm listening at work on dodgy headphones - are some parts of the recording peaking? It seems to distort/peak a little in places, and the sound is a little muddy in places. Did you do your own mix-mastering?

Oh, and more generally on topic - I play piano (classically trained, but a sucker for jazz), guitar (enough to play rhythm and do some fairly basic blues solosing), drums (again, can play a decent spread of rhythms and fills, but I'm not great at sticking to a temp without click), once played a bit of trumpet (haven't played in years), and I also sing.

My main instrument is flute, classical, jazz and improvisation! I also play sax, and taught band and had to learn all the instruments. I also taught recorder in elementary school, I have 5 sizes! Also classical guitar, taught ukulele and piano! I don't compose, but I am great at jamming. I only play in church since I was saved!

Yea, I did my own mixing, and I think it shows lol. Still though, I'm happy you enjoyed the lo-fi tunes. You don't happen to have any songs, do you?

It wasn't so much the quality of the recording - you obviously put some time into it, and it sounds good. The kind of sound is well and truly there. I think it was just that the sound muddied and 'boomed' a little in places - probably just needs a bit of EQ in places, and maybe some harder panning, just to stop all the sound competing and building up in certain frequencies, to help it all sparkle a little more.

I have a few things, nothing that's 100% complete though, mostly half songs and ideas. Haven't got a lot of time at the moment, and I'm the kind of person who really needs some dedicated time at the keys to really push out ideas, and then some group jams to refine things and get a complete sound going.

Not really a lot complete that I'd be entirely willing to share at this point :p (too much of a perfectionist, especially about my own music), but here's a short cover I did recently of Peter Gabriel's Wallflower.
