Texas Minister Declared Dead Talks in Maumee

I read an article in the local newspaper today about a man, Don Piper, who was dead for 90 minutes after a terrible car accident. A baptist minister, who was backed up in traffic behind the accident, was moved to go pray for Mr. Piper and after an hour and a half he returned to life.

He has written a book recalling how he was standing at the gates of heaven: "90 Minutes in Heaven". Piper spoke to a nearby church today about his experience.

it all depends on how you define *dead*
clearly he wasnt dead but in a coma type state

They pronounced the guy dead they had a tarp covering his mangled body, it says nothing about a coma. Although his body was prounounced dead, his spirit was very much alive.

People don't get pronounced dead if they still have a pulse...

I know something about the story. The man, if I remember correctly, was pronounced brain dead at the scene. My mom has the book, and I can see if it mentions that or not.

That is a very interesting story. I am looking forward to reading that book. I am currently reading "Heaven is for Real" by Todd Burpo & Lynn which is about the 3 year old boy who went to heaven. Thanks for sharing

I know which book you speak of although I haven't read it Tony, I believe it was #1 on the NY Times best sellers list for quite some time and only recently moved to #2.

I have seen this is amazing man talk before in real life, it is definitely for real and + I read his book!
