FYI:

Did you know that Alabama is in the process of/or may have already completed their goal of no longer issuing Marriage Licenses? I am still checking to see if this HAS become Law, but here is the "gist" of what is happening. IF this works, then it should be a "Model" for other States to follow, right?

Alabama Senate passes bill to stop issuing marriage licenses ...

Alabama Senate passes bill to stop issuing marriage licenses completely

Alabama , Marriage , Obergefell , Same-Sex 'Marriage'
MONTGOMERY, Alabama, March 24, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) -- With a large number of Alabama judges refusing to issue homosexual "marriage" licenses, the state Senate has passed a bill to eliminate marriage licensing altogether.
The Alabama Senate voted overwhelmingly last week, 23-3, to stop issuing marriage licenses, and simply require couples to file with the state as married. That way, the state still recognizes marriage, while judges will no longer have to solemnize homosexual "weddings" and clerks will no longer have to sign gay "marriage" licenses.
The bill's author, State Senator Greg Albritton (R), told The New York Times that some judges had threatened to go to jail before performing gay weddings. Last year, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis refused to sign homosexual licenses, and spent a week in jail before being released. "Kentucky is a precursor to where we are headed," Albritton said.

VERY GOOD THIS!

Colonel John A. Eidsmoe, Senior Counsel for the Foundation for Moral Law (FML), an Alabama conservative group, told LifeSiteNews that his organization agrees with the bill's intent. "I see no reason the State needs to be in the business of issuing marriage licenses," Eidsmoe said.
"A license is a grant of permission, and we do not need the State's 'permission' to exercise a God-given right such as the right to marry," the Colonel added.

Ehhh, seems to me like a subtle way to legalize gay "marriage". I don't see why we should have to compromise with the gays and their liberal allies. Why not just simply continue to refuse to sign gay marriage licenses until one of the liberal SCOTUS Justices dies, let President Trump appoint another Christian to the bench, and then overturn gay "marriage" totally? I really don't like this idea, compromising with the sodomites is how this country got the massive gay problem it has to begin with. Hold the line, don't give them an inch lest they try to take you for the whole mile like they always do.

You're a little late to the party. The supreme court has already rules that states must issue process for marriage to homosexuals also. That happened about 4 years ago.

That's why we ought to hold the line and wait patiently for new Supreme Court Justices that will do that which is right.

It's extremely rare the supreme court reverses itself.

Why would you be concerned with the states issuing marriage licenses?

Marriage licenses are a post civil war concoction to keep blacks from marrying whites.

As I said before, you give the liberals and the wicked an inch and they'll take the mile. They never settle nor does compromising with them make them hate us any less, it will only bring more corruption and more evil upon our nation. You look pretty generally at any of the issues and you will find historically the more that the weak compromise away righteousness with the wicked the more the wicked will push.

If the government is no longer involved in marriage, what do you care what homos do?

I look at it like this: if we can get government out of marriage, we can get them out of divorce too.

Well I think the government should be involved in marriage. The government recognizes and approves of marriages. Marriage and the family is a bedrock of a society. The more godly a government is in obeying the Lord the better it will be and they will reap blessings and righteousness, but if they do wickedly then will they reap curses and destruction.

The case of divorce is yet another example I think to my point. First they allowed feminism to flourish, they didn't settle for that, then they demanded frivolous divorces, it was given to them, they did not settle for that, then you had the mass whoredom and the demand to accept whoredom and it was given to them and they did not settle for that, then it was abortion which was given to them and they did not settle for that, then they demanded that we pay for their abortions and their whoredoms and we gave it to them and they still haven't settled for it nor hated us any less than they did before, but rather they demand more and they hate us more after compromising with them than they did before.

You can apply the same progression of wickedness to the issue of homosexuality. First they demanded to de-criminalize homosexuality you gave it to them and they didn't settle for it, then they demanded more, then they wanted social recognition and to remove it as a mental disorder, you gave that to them, they didn't settle for it, they demanded civil unions, you gave it to them they didn't settle for it, then they demanded to blaspheme your churches and make them illegitimate by performing gay marriage, you gave it to them, they haven't settled, they have demanded adoption rights, you gave it to them they didn't settle for it, now they're turning children into transsexuals. So the more you compromise with them instead of doing that which is right they will not hate you any less, they will hate you more and they will do even more wickedly, they will not settle.

The family is the basic building block of sociery, but you don't really know what you're writing about.

The government does not improve society. It can't, and that is not the purpose of government. The purpose of government is to enforce and execute the law.

Are you proposing we form a theocracy?

The government can improve society or it can degenerate it depending on how close to following the Lord that government operates. For examples of this in the Bible one merely has to read the book of the kings. In fact the issue of homosexuality and government and religion is even found in the book of the kings. You will find that Asa and Jehoshaphat were righteous kings of Judah and they expelled the sodomites from the land and God made Judah prosper in the days of Asa and Jehoshaphat because they being the government did that which is right.

I am not proposing a theocracy, I am merely showing the reality of the situation. Whether you have a theocracy, a monarchy, a republic, a judgeship like to the days of the Judges, or whatever form of government you can think of, if the government and/or the society turn against God then he will turn against them, and if they turn towards God then he will turn towards them.

A government that can dictate morals from the Christian bible, can surely dictate morals of the koran.

No sir, I'll jave none of it. Government is a very limited resource, we don't need to fill prisons with men for the crime of buggery.

It is not the job of the government to dictate theocratic morals. That's parents job to do.

This is why I am so in favor of eliminating the racist practice of marriage licensing. It's a blight on the history of the United States.

You want a marriage, make a covenant with your Bride, and God.

A government that fails to uphold the commands of God will not stand for long.

Should we fill the society with homosexuals to confuse and destroy the society instead then? God forbid!

It is the job of government to govern and governments is listed as a gift of the Spirit in the Bible.

A nation is a race, race is the origin of all nations, and the origin of all race is the family. Thus marriage which is important to the continuation of one's race is very fundamental to a nation. So it is easy to see why the wicked seek undermine and/or corrupt marriage, for by undermining marriage you undermine an entire race, and by undermining the race you undermine their religion. This is exactly what that wicked man Balaam tried to do to Israel in the matter of Peor.

Marriage is a covenant indeed, therefore it is not a good thing for the government to blaspheme God by doing this thing with homosexual marriage nor is it a good thing for society to break their covenants with their divorces and their whoredoms and their adulteries. The two wrongs do not make a right.

How long is a government supposed to last? Through the history of civilization, man has gone from one organization to the next. The United States will last about as long as the Roman Republic. These things happen. Why worry about it?

The changes to the law in Alabama have really nothing to do with your position. Alabama wants to exit the marriage business, good for them. I'm voting for a politician in Virginia who will do the same.

All governments fall in the day that their society's wickedness comes to its full measure. It's not a matter of worry, it's more a matter of we as a nation should do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.

The change in the law does have much to do with my position. Even in the summary of the article posted they say their hope is to set a "precursor" and a precedent. This is not a good precedent to set, and it will only encourage yet more wickedness and more confusion. I think it is no good to compromise to the liberals, nor is it fitting to cede ground to the wicked, nor is it fit for a judge to evade his or her God-given responsibility to do just judgement in the name of the Lord.

You really don't get it. Marriage regulations are a relatively new thing.

I do not want the government in my marriage. That also means I don't want you in it.

Well too bad, your marriage will reflect upon and shape society of which I and the government are a part of society whether you like it or don't like it, or for that matter whether I like it or I don't like it. Whether your marriage succeeds or fails, it will have vast repercussions upon all of society. You look at the failure of normal marriage and the prevalence of divorces and the bastardization of three generations in a row and you can see many effects from this. You look all ready at the allowance of homosexuality and you can see how many terrible effects have come from it. We as a society can simply not keep going down this path for destruction is at the end of the path. It would be better to turn back and go after the paths towards the Lord which the Lord God designed for us. The Lord did not design the right path to oppress us, but to deliver us from oppression and to do good for us.

"A license is a grant of permission, and we do not need the State's 'permission' to exercise a God-given right such as the right to marry," the Colonel added.

Not a bad idea. The states have been corrupting the marriage business ever since they got their hands on it.

If people want to marry women, men, trees or whatnot...let them...we have a free will, at least that's what I been told.

I don't believe Our Savior will punish us on the grounds of a random President's actions.
