Today I was happy to participate in the 34th Annual life Chain event. Once a year, pro life people from all over the country gather to pray for an end to abortion. These people are generally ecumenical, made of of many different denominations/churches. We are gathered as 'ONE' as Jesus prayed for.

My group was gathered on a sidewalk near an abortion clinic, carrying anti abortion signs and praying. There was much automobile traffic and we were observed by many people.

Needless to say, we don't believe that we will destroy abortion, the murder of the Father's children overnight. But we do hope to make small dents. Many people feel okay about abortion as they keep it 'out of sight and out of mind'. National Life Chain Sunday is one way to bring the evils of abortion to the attention of those who really aren't interested. Maybe we'll only change a few minds, maybe we'll only change the mind of one expectant mother who was planning on killing her child.

The fact is that the evil of abortion must be made public on the public square. And, of course, the 'HEAVY LIFTING' will have to be done by the Holy Spirit, when it comes to changing the hearts and minds of the people in our country about abortion.

My husband and I went out this weekend to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. We often visit our capitol building with our little dog. We decided to go there and came upon a pro- life rally. We stood there for quite some time listening to pastors and singers, a congressman was there. Donated and got a sign for our yard. This is the second time we have been there to pray against abortion.

Not far from our group were the pro-choice group, cursing, screaming into megaphones. What a difference between the two groups, so angry. They were actually chanting "save a life". Strong delusion...

Unfortunately there are those who still believe the opposite of life is choice, not death.
While their behavior is hideous, they need prayer. We mustn't on the one hand promote life for the unborn and have no concern for the spiritually dead.
We wrestle not against flesh and blood...
I'm not suggesting this is true of you in particular but to remind us all that those who oppose life are made in the image of God.

It's not unusual for the pro death crowd to be active and belligerant during pro life rallies. I've been participating in the Annual National Life Chain Sundays for a number of years.

The pro death crowd is belligerant, angry, and filled with hatred for pro life ideas. So, they show up at pro life demonstrations for a number of reasons.

Firstly, to get publicity for their own sorry cause.

Secondly, They try and drown out the message of the pro life speakers by shouting their obscenities. This was a trick that the Nazis used effectively when they were trying to seize power in Germany. They'd have Nazi youth bang on drums during opposition speeches.

Thirdly, the pro death crowd wants to intimidate and frighten the pro life crowd. They want to mute the opinions of the pro lifers by trying to intimidate them. They want them to know it would be safer and much more comfortable to keep thier mouths shut, keep their opinions to themselves, and stay at home and watch the football game. They want us to keep silent.
