Old news, but it seems to be even more relevant today:

I didn't realize anyone took Frank Schaeffer seriously.

if a 'fundamentalist' chooses to ignore reality and facts, then yeah, out to lunch

I agree with much of what he said...certainly not all

far too many Christians do not use their God given brains or sense. sinful to think or question apparently

really can't confirm any 'deals' sounds far fetched

thinking Schaeffer has suffered some ideological disappointments and therefore, to him, they are no longer true

IMO, dude has some big resentment going on here

while I agree with Christians ignoring facts and dumbing down the Bible, we are hearing some personal comments in this video and he sounds fringelike himself

interesting

He needs to do better research and maybe comb his hair too!

When the Pew Research Center asked them (white evangelicals, 2016 Election) which issues—not limited to a single one—were “very important” to them in deciding how to cast their votes, terrorism (89%) and the economy (87%) ranked higher than Supreme Court appointments (70%) and abortion (52%).

http://www.pewresearch.org

Frank Schaeffer has completely destroyed any credibility by putting the term "Fascism" in the title of this book. People really need to stop throwing around this term, those that do only show their willful ignorance if history and the real trauma of fascism.

Such a shame, I have read all his father's books, Francis Schaeffer, one of the more profound writers of our time.

While I agree it is sad to see so many "evangelicals" whatever that means anymore, fall victim to frauds like Hagee, I do believe there are many evangelicals that know better and there is a resurgence among the youth towards conservative governmental values.

"Turning Point USA" being one such movement.

These young conservative intellectuals, religious and non religious are the true future leaders, no one cares about Falwell and Dobson and more, thank goodness.

At least he had shave - I don't see his use of the term Fascism discredits all of what he says any more than one of Turning Points "true future leaders" discredits Anna Paulina for comparing Hilary Clinton to herpes:

Fox News shut down Turning Point USA’s Anna Paulina on Thursday after she compared former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to an incurable virus. . .

The Thursday interview got off to a rough start, with Ms. Paulina jumping to defending President Trump’s border policies, despite being asked about Mrs. Clinton’s emails.

Rick Leventhal, who was hosting the segment, pivoted to political analyst Doug Schoen, but the Turning Point staffer jumped back in.

“[Mrs. Clinton] won’t go away,” Ms. Paulina said. “She’s like herpes.”

How deep does one have to dig so as to post their contempt for Christians?

Frank was what he despises. An evangelical fundamentalist . And his daddy was a preacher.
Now he thinks he's getting the community back with his actions. Like that other former fundy that started FFRF and seeks to violate Christian's civil rights as he joins with the communist ACLU in an anti-Christian front.

Frank Schaeffer calls Fundy Christians village idiots.
Frank Schaeffer first insults his entire family who are Fundamentalist Christian Evangelicals.

While Fundy Christians pay him no mind other than to pray for his soul. His hate is eating him alive.

I agree some valid points are made...some I agree with because I already thought them

he definitely has a burr under his saddle pad though and the campaign to go along with it it seems

What is with this fad of joining the Orthodox Church? It is certainly better than the Catholic Church, but it also has major issues that verge in cultic. The biggest one is that no one is saved outside the Orthodox Church. Not all members believe that, but that is, if not official doctrine, truly the sanctiinrf belief.

The Orthodox Church does value the Bible, much more than the RCC, but is a long way from Sola Scriptura.

I see TP USA is training it's right wingers in political corruption early:

"A Conservative Nonprofit That Seeks to Transform College Campuses Faces Allegations of Racial Bias and Illegal Campaign Activity"

https://www.newyorker.com/news/news...-of-racial-bias-and-illegal-campaign-activity

that's great considering almost every campus in the US will NOT allow a conservative to speak

oh no bias at all

racial bias? apparently these dimwits do not know the difference between speech and skin color

no free speech exists in these institutions and that also means no free thought.

it will be the downfall of the US if anything is. forget the invasion...the 5th column is alive and doing well and IMO, it is too late to change it

I think he is looking for sanctuary and wants to be told what to believe

IMO, and I already said it, something happened to him

I think the burr is the phony dispensational/evangelical apocalypse seeking false narrative foisted on the bible and the effect it has on the political environment in the US - Orthodoxy being amillennial most likely appeals as it lacks the Apocalypse suicide approach.

well he is all good to go now in the orthodox sense

if things do not make sense, that is if they send your brain waves out around pluto somewhere, then it is most likely they are, as you say, foisted

I don't think 'blind' faith is faith but I also do not think Jesus has already returned as per yourself and some others but if anything and everything is salvic as some here believe...I don't think anyone is going to be welcomed at 'the pearly gates'

I have seen far too many 'blind faithers' who believe in their own perception of what God 'expects' with regards to faith and the carnage that can cause

it has left a real big distaste for the whole thing

I have also found, and here I might have to dive into a foxhole, a striking difference between many American Christians and the Canadian Christians I grew up with. I honestly think the Canadian bar is often higher :cautious:

Schaeffer sounds just like anyone I ever knew who reached the limit of disenchantment with make believe every cloud in the sky is God telling us something
