Sad news..... I have met several people in my life who found themselves in hotel rooms depressed and suicidal who were rescued by the Word being available to them there. I will be praying for this man, that God will change his mind.

I did not do research on Fifty Shades. I actually read the books. All three of them. I did it because christian friends were arguing with one another about them. Some had read them, some were simply going by the opinions and reviews of others they found online, which turned out to be way off base.

The only reference to pedophelia in any of the three books is the abuse of the 27 year old man in the story who was abused by an older woman when he was 15 years old, which led to the extreme sexual issues he is dealing with in all three books. Pedophelia is not glorified in the books. It is strongly denounced by the 22 year old woman and the 27 year old man's mother when they discover what happened to him, and finally by the 27 year old man himself. The woman is 22 years old, a highly intelligent, but sexually innocent young lady, like many young ladies I know.

The books are sexually explicit in both explanation and language, and I would most certainly not recommend them, especially to those who wrestle with sexual issues. Having said that, the abused man falls in love with the woman, marries her and the love, trust and innocence she displays goes a long way toward healing him emotionally and frees him from the hold his abuser had over him.

There IS a section involving a cross in the last book that I found highly offensive and refused to read. I can only subject myself to so much for the sake of intelligent argument and that was way over the line.
