Unbelievable. They spend four years ranting about deficits, and they approve a budget that has $800 billion in deficits for 2013. I thought the tea-publicans were against the deficits and big government?

House approves Paul Ryan budget plan | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

"The House voted 228-191 to pass the bill with 10 Republicans opposing it. Democrats unanimously opposed the measure."

"it would still leave federal coffers with a deficit of nearly $800 billion in 2013."

So now House Republicans are on record where they approved a budget that has almost a trillion in deficit. And the $5 trillion cut over ten years isn't much.

I wonder how much of that is going to foreign aid to countries like Pakistan. Right after bin laden was killed it came out in the news that the US is wondering whether or not to suspend $800 million in aid for THAT YEAR because they were housing bin laden. We've already been giving them aid for years.

I don't think we give that much in total foreign aid. Our entire budget for the year is about 2.5 trillion to 3.5 trillion. I can't believe we'd spend 1/3 of the budget just on foreign aid.

Here are a few articles pertaining to the $800 mil in aid to pakistan that I mentioned. Should I say "read it and weep"? :(

My bad. For some reason I read billion and not million.

800 million makes sense considering our strategic interests in the area.
