This Thread OP is to ask that question with regards to the actions of various City, County, State Governments, as well as the Federal Government.

As we all know there are at least 43 States that enacted some sort of "shelter in place" Order, and some of them threatened to arrest anyone who violated this Order. Excluding the "exceptions," these Orders were varied and questionable at best. From what I can see, and even read here, they were based on the various Governments having the duty and power to protect the welfare of the greater masses.

Ok, let us accept that as being true. This means that the Government has both the duty and the power to intervene in how people conduct their lives, and what they subject their bodies/health to.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, BUT is it not the PREMISE of Legal Abortion that the Government does not have the right to tell a person what they can or can not do with their own bodies? That choices such as this are between the person and their Doctor? Is this not right?

IF SO:

Then we can conclude that the Government has no right to tell a person that abortions are illegal, and that unborn children are human beings and must be protected. Right to Life.

The Government has EVERY right to tell people that they can not live their lives during such a time as this pandemic.

Is this hypocrisy?

um

if the govt wants to make abortion legal they can, and they can also make it illegal if they want. But then its up to the person whether they want to break the law or uphold the law, and they need to deal with the consequences if they do.

Like it or not, governments exist so people can live their lives in order according to how they best want to be governed. The israelites knew this when they said they wanted a king like all other nations. we all know kings are just humans and not God.

im sure there were some israelites, espeically the prophets, who did not want a king. Cos they knew kings would be capable of evil and prone to sin and leading their entire nation astray. and thats what happened when the kingdom split into two.

there were only a handful of righteous kings.
