I didn't say I want recognition. I couldn't care less if I never got any, because I never did anything that isn't different or more important than anyone else.

No, I haven't been through anything like that, and I never wish that for anyone. I just want life on this planet to matter. And I do know which side I'm on.

I'm just not exactly looking forward to floating around forever and missing everything that makes life good.

You said you wanted people to get the recognition they deserve. Life on this planet does matter, why do you think it doesn't?

Quote "I'm just not exactly looking forward to floating around forever and missing everything that makes life good."

You are way too young to feel like you're missing out on life. You dont know what is around the corner. Trust me,life can change in a moment. Enjoy the little things. I've traveled many places but I'm not able to now. So I find things locally or close to home that intrigue me. I dont focus on what I cant do,I enjoy what I can do.

"Corrie Ten Boom lost her family in the Holocaust and went on to lead many to the Lord through her testimony."

Read one of my earlier posts when I said that isn't the case for everyone. A much lesser known woman who lived through the Armenian genocide saw her father die brutally when she was only ten years old. She never got over it for the rest of her life.

Yes, I dont think Corrie simply "got over" what happened to her family. But there is evil in this world. Until we reach heaven we don't know what we will have to face. But we dont face it alone. If we have God in our hearts we can face tomorrow.

Friends and family for one thing. But if you love everyone else the same way then, what's the point?

I like to travel, but the farthest I've ever been from home is three states away.

I'm also the adventurous type, but a) I don't have enough money, and b) I don't have any opportunities because I have a full time job.
How does a Christian miss out on friends, family, and travel? Try again.... maybe tomorrow or the next day.... when you have REALLY thought about what it is you want from life that being a Christian will take away from you.

It just seems like unless you're constantly doing missions or serving the poor or whatever, you're not as spiritual.

And I have missed out. I have high-functioning autism and am very shy. I didn't have a lot of friends growing up, and even now I don't. People focus all the time on the bigger sufferings but just being lonely day after day can lead someone to hopelessness.

The bible always says you have to lay down your life if you want to be a Christian.

We (We're not worrying about other people in this conversation.) focus upon what we choose to focus on. It's no one's choice but yours. Why do you seem so willing to let how others live, decide how you are going to be?

The bible always says you have to lay down your life if you want to be a Christian.
It also says to count the cost before you follow Him. It seems you haven't,and I dont mean that in a nasty way.

Always giving up what matters most.

Not being allowed to be happy, but to be "joyful" whatever that means.

Not standing up for yourself but allowing yourself to be tortured and killed.

Sorry, I'm out of time.

That actually explains a lot.

People who say read all of Job are just saying that out of emotional ignorance.....I don't care if Job got double and restored etc....he was scarred for life by losing his children, being humiliated by his friends and those at the city gate......don't bring up that spiritual bs of "oh everything was okay because he got double" that's a load of crap....he was traumatized unfairly all for God to prove a point....I don't care if people think I'm not spiritual or what not....nail it down to the essentials and that is what happened....nothing will replace his dead children or his reputation being badgered....

In all that did Job did not sin against God and accuse him falsely....yea that sounds like a huge embellishment......especially when he said God's arrows stick in him, he curses his birthday....

Hmm....saying God is shooting you with arrows is an accusation....so I guess Job did "sin" after all? And don't bring up complaining as an excuse, because even complaining is a sin according to the Bible.....Job was a human and a sinner just like every other dang person.....not a spiritual robot as some think....

And before it becomes do I believe the Bible...yes I do but a lot of things in it are written without the full picture of the human side of the people involved....they are made to sound like "superstars" when they are really just sinful people that God chose to use....

The "T" word is getting stronger with this one.
I was thinking more along the line of this:

But, yeah. Your letter works better.

(Who whines because they have it so good?)

I'm no professional but I sense something far deeper than just questioning life. Maybe depression? Is there someone you could talk to like a pastor? Just wondering.
