Netanyahu prophetically correct at UN

It is yet to be seen whether or not Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN gained any diplomatic or political ground for Israel. The message, however, was certainly ground-breaking. On the floor of the United Nations General Assembly, in front of the nations of the world, Netanyahu quoted from the Bible no fewer than five times. Surely more than any other speech in UN history.

“Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”

Calling up the fathers of faith, Israel’s Prime Minister pronounced to all that it is not the United Nations, nor the United States, nor a slipshod “two-state solution” that will establish the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland, but only the promises of the God of Israel as spoken in His word to their forefathers.

For Israel’s Prime Minister, it seems, God’s word is as politically correct and relevant today as ever.

“The Persian king Cyrus issued a famous edict in which he proclaimed the right of the Jews to return to the land of Israel and rebuild the Jewish temple in Jerusalem.”

In this brilliant admonition of Iran’s anti-Israel madness, Netanyahu pointed out that it was the Persian King Cyrus himself who supported the return of the Jewish people to Israel. How shrewd of the Prime Minister to remind the Iranian people that they themselves were instruments in God’s hands to fulfill His plan to establish the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. What a stunning rebuke of a regime that regularly threatens to destroy the Jewish state.

Like the prophets of old, Netanyahu directly confronted that ancient enemy of Israel calling upon them to abandon the path of fighting against God’s will concerning the Jewish people. Fighting against the purposes of God will only backfire in the end. For “presidents of Iran have come and gone,” said Netanyahu, “and (yet) we re-established our sovereign state in our ancestral homeland, the land of Israel.”

“A wolf in sheep’s clothing”

Apparently, Israel’s Jewish Prime Minister also reads the New Testament. This quote taken directly from the Gospel of Matthew suggests that the true nature of Israel’s foes will be revealed by their actions, as seen in the following verse in Jesus’ sermon: “By their fruits shall ye know them.”

After systematically recalling a long list of the new Iranian president Rouhani’s murders, killings and terror over the years, Netanyahu exposed the “brazen contrast, this extraordinary contradiction, between Rouhani’s words and Iran’s actions.”

One could almost picture Jesus himself over-turning the tables in the Temple as Netanyahu tried to shake the world’s leaders out of their apathy and wake them up to the imminent dangers of Iran’s deceitfulness. Abandoning all politically correct diplomacy, he stunned the weary diplomats in the General Assembly, exposing lie after lie of Iran’s deceptive “charm offensive” and denouncing it as a “rogue regime.”

“Israel will stand alone”

Asher Intrater, a Messianic Jewish leader in Israel, pointed out that when Netanyahu declared in his speech that if necessary Israel would stand alone to defend herself against the Iranian nuclear threat, the Prime Minister was referring to a prophecy in Deuteronomy 33:28.

The prophecy reads, “Then Israel shall dwell in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone…happy are you O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord.”

Constantly under pressure from the nations of the world, Israel’s prime minister seems to have internalized the profound truth that more than any other nation in the world Israel must trust in the Lord for her salvation.

“I will plant them upon their soil never to be uprooted again”

Quoting from the Prophet Amos in English and then in Hebrew, Netanyahu made it clear to all who are listening that no threat, nuclear or otherwise, will remove Israel from the Land. For the Lord Himself has established His people here.

“The people of Israel have come home never to be uprooted again,” concluded Netanyahu.

This is no conspiracy. The church needs to wake up. Since when is it "conspiracy" when the Prime Minister of Israel quotes from the Holy Scriptures.....not pulling verses out of context, as many "professing" Christians do.

The conspiracy is exactly that. He is trying to con those who call themselves Christians to support the enemies of Christ, by referring to long-fulfilled prophecies as if they haven't already been fulfilled, and claiming promises that do not belong to him, or to the Synagogue of Satan.

Get your head out of the "anti-semitic" sand!
Christians are more Jewish than Netanyahu, through Christ, so if anyone's being "anti-semitic", it's him... and maybe you. :)

Christians don't give up their inheritance. Their inheritance is Jesus Christ:

Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Ephesians 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

so, what is the State of Israel's (currently unbelieving jews) inheritance?
slaughter at the hands of The Antichrist after you get raptured?

Not all the Jews are "enemies of Christ". List the prophecies, with Scriptures, that you claim have already been fulfilled. Where is this "land" that the church has inherited?

Sorry, but you have NO idea who or what a true born again Christian is. The "fruit" of your anti-semitic "ilk" has produced the pogroms in Russia, Hitler's Holocaust, the intifada in Israel, etc. Think about that for awhile. Christians, unless they are ethnically Jews, are simply Christian Gentiles.

Hi Linda

If you get a chance, it would be good if you studied history between the US and Iran. There is a lot of declassified material becoming available.

The 1953 coup is a good place to start,

In 1953 Iran had a coup. Recent document indicates that the CIA was behind it.

Declassified Documents Reveal CIA Role In 1953 Iranian Coup : NPR

This coup destabilized Iran. The US supported one of the worse dictators Iran has seen.

I would also have a look at the role the US had in keeping Saddam in power and in the Iran / Iraq war.

Exclusive: CIA Files Prove America Helped Saddam as He Gassed Iran - By Shane Harris and Matthew M. Aid | Foreign Policy

The shooting down of Iranian Airbus A300B2 killing all civilians on board. It was found it was no accident. When it was found that the shooting was no accident, what did vice president George W Bush state ?

I will never apologize for the United States — I don't care what the facts are... I'm not an apologize-for-America kind of guy.

What a wonderful person.Iranian Boats May Not Have Made Radio Threat, Pentagon Says

This is just scratching the surface. Don't let the mainstream media lead you along. :)

Its easy to look at history with 20/20 hindsight...and a bias.

If you do not profess Jesus as Lord, as the jewish disciples did, as the pharesee of pharesees Paul did, you are not saved. God revealed Himself through the jewish people. Jews are not saved nor are they the Chosen People, by birthright.

Faith saves, not genetics.

Its really easy to judge a nation, sitting home comfortably, not worrying about today's terrorist attack, nuke attack or invasion, like Israel has had to since 1948.

If I remember correctly King Cyrus was religiously tolerant more than he was in favor of the jews.

Isn't it funny that the ones, here, who hate Israel so much side with people like Yasar Arafat and this new Iranian president?

The ground is level at the foot of the cross. Jews need to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" the same as Gentiles.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This means that born again Christians (Jews and Gentiles) are to share Christ with the lost Jewish people (Romans 1:16).

Jews are not saved nor are they the Chosen People, by birthright.
Only those Jews who trust Christ are saved...however, they are God's Chosen People, beginning with the Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12:1-3).

Deuteronomy 7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
Deuteronomy 7:8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

The nation of Israel was chosen and created by God to preserve His truth in the world and to prepare the way for Christ's coming. The nation is named after Jacob, who was renamed Israel by God (Genesis 32:28).

Faith saves, not genetics.
True.

Fulfilled.

Joshua 21: 43 - 45 And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the Lord gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

“The Persian king Cyrus issued a famous edict in which he proclaimed the right of the Jews to return to the land of Israel and rebuild the Jewish temple in Jerusalem.”
Fulfilled.

Nehemiah 7:6 These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;

Ezra 6:14 - 15 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

“By their fruits shall ye know them.”
If Netanyahu is not trying to use scriptures for the devil's purposes, let him acknowledge that salvation comes through the blood of Christ Jesus alone.

Matthew 7:20 - 23 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

One could almost picture Jesus himself over-turning the tables in the Temple as Netanyahu tried to shake the world’s leaders out of their apathy and wake them up to the imminent dangers of Iran’s deceitfulness.
I certainly would not be comparing this snake to our Lord and Saviour. If Jesus overturned any tables today, I suspect one of them would belong to Netanyahu.

[...]the Prime Minister was referring to a prophecy in Deuteronomy 33:28.

The prophecy reads, “Then Israel shall dwell in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone…happy are you O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord.”
Fulfilled, see Joshua quote above.

James in Acts 15 makes it clear this passage in Amos is referring to Christians. This is where you start giving up your inheritance to those who call themselves Jews, but are not.

Acts 15:13 - 17 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

That's fine. If you actually researched the relationship you may change your mind. Iran continues to be the bogeyman to be taken down no matter what the cost. The Iranian people are the ones that suffer.

slaughter at the hands of The Antichrist after you get raptured?

Ezekiel 36:20-24

When they came to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name - when they said of them, 'These are the people of the LORD, and yet they have gone out of His land.' But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went. "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name's sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD," says the Lord GOD, "when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land."

God does not yet love Israel simply for what Israel does, but because she is His people, and for His name's sake He will not fail to bring about what He has promised her.

and yet --

Romans 9:6

It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

is Paul not talking about the Hebrews in 9:4-5?

The people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

what then? did Zecheriah not prophecy about Israel, but about the church? not about Jerusalem, but about some favored Christian city? will all of the nations of the earth be gathered together against the Vatican in the valley of Armageddon?

Zechariah 12:3

On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

of course not. let the scripture speak for itself. the Lord will for His name's sake defend Israel -- let her proclaim His name!

When was the last time Iran attacked Israel? Whose scientists and military personnel are getting murdered in acts of terrorism? Which nation has nuclear weapons and refuses UN inspections?

I'm not saying the Iranian nation is all peaches and cream, but it certainly doesn't appear to be an aggressor in the current situation, and it certainly doesn't appear to be condoning terrorism.

I recommend you stop drinking that brand of kool-aid. :D

i don't know of any nation that's blameless.

i do know this though, that Christ says "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30) and that the Father is the God of the Hebrews, of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and He says of Israel, "I will bless those that bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse
" (Genesis 12:3).

iran's primary mode of aggression is proxy warfare...
I suppose that's the primary mode of aggression of all world powers, US and Israel included (e.g. Libya, Syria). But point taken - Iran have their proxies also. :)
