Making a Trump supporter/ only nice thing about him thread was a wonderful idea. I hope it makes a safe place for Trump supports to discuss him. I promise not to post on it in much the same way I ask that None of the Trump supporters post here (unless, of course, they Actually have a something Truly Nice to say about Bernie Sanders).
I thought I'd attrac start this one with an interview of him from 1988! If you've listened to a recent one, you'll see he hasn't changed his stance!

I like that he is clearly the most trustworthy candidate.
I like that he is clearly the most consistent candidate.
I like that even though he isn't a Christian but runs his campaign the most Christ-like.
I like that he was against the bail outs when most of Republican and Democrat politicians were highly in favor of it.
I like that he was attacking Wall Street for the economic collapse in 2008 before it became popular.
I like that he has been adamantly opposed to NAFTA even when most Democrats and Republicans favored it.
I like that he doesn't have a super pac.
I like that he was against the war in Iraq even when all the other candidates (including Hillary) were for it.
I like that he had the foresight to see that by taking out Saddam Hussein, there would be an imbalance of power in the middle east.
I like that he forewarned of terrorist groups like ISIS that would form from the vacuum created after taking out Saddam Hussein.

I'd continue but I want to give other people a chance to list some.

As a Christian I could not support Mr Sanders socialistic views. Nor Hillarys for that matter. No one yet knows who the Rep. candidate will be. But Sanders is sold out for the socialistic message and I could not support that in good conscience.

I wont tear apart your post but I have to comment on this statement. Sanders supports abortion, gay marriage and socialism. None of those is anywhere near Christlike. Its great that he isn't attacking Hillary but I think he was rather put up to running to make it look like Hillary had someone to run against. They knew he never had a chance. Look how quickly Biden backed down from running. Hillary had already been crowned. But his ideals are from Christlike.

I like Sanders for not being as big an idiot as hillary.

I even capitalize his name which I almost never do for liberals, let alone socialists.

He is an inconsistent socialist in regards to the 2nd Amendment.

So if elected he may not take our guns away by executive order...maybe.

Honest question: Why do you feel that embracing some socialistic principals is anti-christian? Take something like universal health care for example, which is a socialistic concept. Is that somehow anti-christian? Wanting everyone to be entitled to great health and not limit excellent care to the rich?

You know, it was a serious question, and forgive me if I misinterpreted this response, but as of late people have been very rude to me on this site, but your response comes across to me as some sort of sugar-coated rude belittling and slyly calling me naive for presumably being younger than you...even though any one of us could have chosen any age... How about answering the question and explaining why it's dumb and I'm wrong?

Because it always leads to tyranny. It is central planning.....and central planners never stop central planning. Central planners need job security so they keep central planning so they will always have more central planning to do. They even central plan their central planning. Central planning is socialism and central planners are never satisfied that their central planning is enough central planning so they dream up more creative and draconian ways to central plan.....for everyone.

As soon as I posted that I thought you might see it as a dig. NOT so! Promise! You have no clue how happy I am that you and a very few others have had the guts to state your positions...:)

My comment was really a self-reflection, I apologize again. When I was younger I felt the same way you do today! It would be awesome if socialism and communism actually worked in the real world... I mean who doesn't want to help the little guy? The poor and defenseless?? After all, IMO, that's exactly how Jesus would want us to operate!! Working for the good of all in His name....!

But....

Throw man into the mix, and it will NEVER, EVER, EVER happen! Greed of all sorts (for $$, for fame, for status, hoarding power) destroys it every time. Don't forget satan rules THIS world... and it's all too noticeable...:) You tend to figure this out later in life when it slaps you in the face on a daily level....

Let me ask you this...

How would you reverse the all out corruption (both in gov and by the users) of the social programs we have today?

^^ Well that's the nature of being a so-called "progressive". Updating, fixing, changing, evolving policies. I don't think it has to lead to tyranny though. It seems so weird to me that people are against this...especially on this site! lol I thought it was the Christian duty to give to the poor and help people... the homeless, the sick, etc... We go and do missionary work and all that but somehow it's wrong to do it through governmental processes and taxing? This logic is so bizarre to me. What's the point of missionary work? To help people and aide them, right? Giving to charities to make homeless and sickly people's lives easier... Free healthcare is an essential part of Christianity, to me.
