I invite everyone to watch these videos >>> HERE <<<< and comment.

Do you think either or both of them are lying? Do you agree with what they say? Do you think it's a bunch of hot air and doesn't really mean anything, or do they have some good ideas?

Who cares about the video --- If we remove Obama and put Romney in then Americans have more to stand on if Romney is a screw up and we get rid of him in 4 years. IT's time for a change America and if Romeny not it lets get him out of there and put someone else in, But Obama has to go

Who cares about the video
Well, I care about the videos. I was wanting to get input from my sisters and brothers here on CC concerning what, specifically, each candidate said about a specific question asked of both candidates.

I was not inviting a general tirade about "Obama bad Romney good." I know that a lot of people on this board have already decided who they will vote for, and discussion will not likely change any minds. However, I thought some discussion about the topics addressed in these videos -- FAITH, and the responsibility of the PRESIDENT OF THE US to address POVERTY, as a person of FAITH -- might be worthy in this ... I don't know, CHRISTIAN chat?

I know, it's crazy for me to think that we could actually discuss something about faith here. Sorry for going there.

So is Romney. So are you. So am I.

And yet all 4 of us are also saved by grace. What does any of that have to do with the subject at hand?

I didn't spend 6 trillion dollar in 4 years, basically start a class warfare, have crazy czars like Van Jones, Mark Llyod, Case Sunstein and their radical views, and we can go on, but everyone should get the point Obama can, He tired, He FAILED .. NEXT

I didn't spend 6 trillion dollar in 4 years,
Obama has spent less in one term than any other president. I have posted the support for this in this forum multiple times before. He has spent less than W did in either term. He spent less than Clinton did in either term. He spent less than Bush Sr. did. Shall I continue?

basically start a class warfare,
Neither did Obama. Class warfare has been waged long before Obama was in office, and if anyone is going to take the blame, it's gotta be the ones who give tax breaks to the rich on the backs of the poor. And that's not Obama.

have crazy czars like Van Jones, Mark Llyod, Case Sunstein and their radical views,
True. Other presidents have had other crazy czars with other radical views.

and we can go on, but everyone should get the point Obama can, He tired, He FAILED .. NEXT
Economically and domestically, he has done an excellent job. His was handed a royal mess, and has actually changed the tides for the better. Is everything fixed? No. He told us at the beginning that he wouldn't be able to fix everything in four years. He told us at the beginning that he would do the best he could, and he asked us to help him.

Despite a congress that has filibusterered more than any congress in history (again, sources available) he has gotten more done than a lot of presidents before him. The economy has actually started to improve, which, considering how bad it was 4 years ago, is a downright miracle. Few presidents, even with a cooperating congress, could have accomplished the good that Obama has achieved.

As for his foreign policy, that sucks. I will grant you that (though you didn't mention that). But Romney's is worse, so we Christians are left with no one to vote for.

Now, in the video, each candidate is asked by a group of religious leaders what they plan to do about poverty in the US. It's interesting, because the videos are sponsored by a religious network, and they're asking specifically from a religious stand-point. I found a few things notable:

(1) Obama speaks a lot about his Christian faith, and about how his policies are based on how he feels he must act as a Christian man, as a husband and father, and as a president. Romney doesn't do that as much.

(2) Romney argues for, basically, a "democratic party" taxation system. He says we need to keep the entitlement programs such as social security, welfare, and other programs that assist the poor. He says this as if he's different than "the other guy," but surely he must realize that this is the democratic platform.

So I'm curious what other people think.

Do you think Obama is lying in the video when he talks about how strong his Christian faith is?

Do you think Romney is lying in the video when he says he's going to support entitlement programs like social security and welfare, even though the outcome of that action HAS to be raising taxes or raising the debt, or both?

Both candidates say they want to work with faith-based organizations to assist the poor. Obama refers to the law he already passed that does exactly that -- allows FBO to operate without government "getting in the way," yet still having the government serve as a safety net for those who aren't served by FBOs.

I'm curious as to what people on this board think about this plan. Since both candidates have basically the same plan as to what to do about poverty from a religious viewpoint, do you agree or disagree with it.

If you disagree with this plan, what would you do differently?

If you agree, how do you decide between two candidates who at least claim to be in agreement on this particular issue?

>>>LINK<<< And here's what it says:

Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, an “inferno” of spending that threatens our jobs, our businesses and our children’s future. Even Democrats seem to think it’s true.

But it didn’t happen. Although there was a big stimulus bill under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s.
Whenever you're ready to discuss facts rather than your own delusions, let me know.

I know I'm not American but I think Obama's video was the most human. He talked about those in need, about helping them. I note that most arguments against him are money orientated, as opposed to people orientated. You have been blessed by a capable, intelligent and caring man, who seeks not to serve a himself, his friends or his family but you, the Americans.

Mitt Romney is proposing the same ideas that Bush's abministration did. They didn,t work. He said that Detroit and the motor industry in America should be abandoned, that it couldn't be saved. Obama saved it. Romney says that you need to panic about your economy. You don't. Everything is going fine.

No human leader is perfect. We had a guy called Gordon Brown in charge for a while whose economic plan for Britain was very similar to Obama's was for America. He didn't know how to smile for the cameras though, so we got Cameron instead. His plan is the same as Romney's. It isn't working.

I admire Obama's humility, and the fact that he doesn't care about party ideology, peopl come first. I understand that many Christians in America agree with Romney's pro life policy. Why? After Christ Jesus, free will is the greatest treasure God ever gave us. You follow God because you choose to. If you legislate any of your own beliefs the it is only so long before you get the Inquisition. People have a right to deny God. We all know it is wrong but He wants us to choose to serve Him, otherwise He would have just made more angels.

From my point of view which I admit is limited, voting for Romney is just selling your hope for the future. Say whatever bad stuff you like about Obama, he follows God and it shows. How many impossible bills have gone through? How many tough calls has he made? How many times has he risked his presidency on helping his fellow man? He is more in line with biblical thinking than Romney, who seeks to condemn. Remember you are free, don't sell that to some corporate minion just because he says scary things.

First off your not Ameican -- Proven the world loves Obama -- Anti-Christ anyone ???

So you want someone who looks good, tells you lies .. I believe it is a script for that.

2 Timothy 4:3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

Obama believes it's many ways to heaven ..

I still in shock that you believe Obama spending is better than Bush. When Bush spent 4 trillion in 8 years and Obama has spent 6 Trillion in 4 years .. LOL .. Now that is FUNNY

I still can't find any evidence he spent less than any president ever, can you provide a link? I have looked.

As far as W. Bush goes, I totally agree with you on that one, although to be fair the blame for those 8 years aren't just on Bush.

As far as the videos go, I believe Obama to be saying things he thinks will get him elected, just like last election. He broke many of those promises that he could have easily kept.

On Romney, I'll be honest with you. I tried to pay attention, I really did. But both times I watched him, that dull monotone put me into some sort of ennui-induced trance, and I emerged having no idea what he said. I'll just put my money on he was lying, as I have no reason to believe otherwise.

At least until this point Romney has been a capitalist. Not Socialist or worse.

I don't understand why capitalism (the idea of aquiring as much personal wealth as possible) is a good idea. Jesus was pretty specific on that. He said we were supposed to love God first, then everyone else. He also said that you cannot serve both God and money. Any political argument based on money is null and void from a Christian perspective.

Given the choice myself, it would be Obama getting my vote. This being said I am outside this strange tribal system that exists in America, where it is apparently impossible to be Christian and a Democrat.

Rare very rare!!! LOl I ever talk on this!! Fact, I do not care for either! Fact never in the history of the U.S. have a budget not been in balanced for 4 years! Fact the hope and change promised, has been anything but hope! And the change we have received the government can keep! Fact If Romney gets in we will have a war within 3 months of him taking office. If Obama stays in office, no one will hire others. If I would start a small business, and wish to make money, 40 percent goes already to covering insurence on my workers!!

That leaves me 60 percent, half of which must go to the opertaion of my bussiness, now I am left with 30 percent, half of this goes to pay my workers, and paying the bills of my business. Now i have 15 percent! 10 percent at least of this goes to food, bills at home, etc..And so what is left for me to profit by??? LOL Why bother starting a business!! Which is excatly the point of our problem!

So tax the rich to make them poorer,ah so they will not hire, because I have never known a poor person to offer me a job. SO!! What is better?? War where people can work,or no war,and nobody can find work? I hate war,I have fought 2 tours in Vietnam, but i also know that this Country of ours must have war, to make money.

That is the real business of our Government, but with its people working to!!! SO!!! Give the left foot of fellowship to the current President, and if the new one does not give us hope and change either, then he will receive the same left foot!! It to me brothers and sisters is not about color or religion or lack thereof! It is about getting the job DONE! Getting people back to work, and giving each person a sense of worth to there own Country! When you have worth, you give value to others!! because you care!! Hope this helps.

You information is incorrect. I have backup to support the FACT that you are mistaken. Do you have any support for your numbers? No. You don't care what it says because it's the truth. Stick your head in the sand if you want, that doesn't change the facts.

Romney has a script, too, you know. He is just as good a liar as Obama, if not better.
