Is anybody else watching Leah Remini's special on her leaving of Scientology? It's on Hulu. What do you think of it so far?

I would like to see that. I am sure she has a lot of interesting things to say. I've known about the cultish nature of the church of scientology since the early 2000's. They have members in high places in society that make sure no one knows or reveals the truth about them, that they are a money-making cult.

I remember when Dianetics was the big thing. I tried to read it but gave up after a few pages because I couldn't make any sense out of it.
There is a new one called hyperianism floating around Facebook. It seems kind of similar to Scientology. A lot of pseudo-scientific nonsense and psychobabble

Not watching the Show...........but have read some of the attacks that have come her way......that is to be expected I suppose. IMO, scientology is quite possibly the most dangerous cult in America today.......

we think the 'biggest-cult-today', is 'false christianity', those who use Jesus
as their scape-goat in order to be able to do their 'own-thing, their own way'
you know, what ever makes them 'feel-good' and excused from their
'duties/responsibilities' to Creator first, and then to His called-out', or to
the 'poor and needy'...
Faith-Hope-Charity', where or how often does one see theses gifts displayed
in today's world? we both have been blessed to witness, but oh, so very rare!

Scientology is nothing more and nothing less than a Markabian doingness. Jesus Christ thwarted this movement long before it began...

sometimes, we who Love Jesus Christ, have to wonder at the ignorance and
blaspheme that continues to proceed/escalate in this wicked world - it is so grievous -
but, He blessed us with His Blessed Assurances, when we need them the most...
Praise His Holy Name...

So basically, from what I understand, Scientology is supposed to be a religion that promises you the way to more success and happiness by "cleansing your mind and spirit"..... And the hook is that to acheive this sense of heightened enlightenment you need to pay for membership, learn from their enlightenment gurus and swear to uphold their rules which include keeping everything you learn and the ways of the church a secret.

I didn't watch anything. I just surmised that from everything I've heard over the years.

ZT,

I see that your 'surmising-skills' have hit the nail'...

the wickedness of this world is ever calling, wooing, beseeching,
those who desire something or someone
other than their Holy Saviour...

I just watched the latest episode... this series fascinates me. So brave what Leah Remini and Mike Rinder are doing, and all the people who speak up!

I've seen a few episodes, it's shocking. With so many stories of physical and mental abuse, the government should be investigating them.

I wonder if they stilll "audit souls" with two cans and a string? I wonder if they yet teach earth is a penal colony for a planet they have named Markab? I wonder if they still make up words, such as a makeupingness, etc.

No, I have never been a follower of L. Ron Hubbard, rip, but in the late 1960's I did have many conversations with three members of that cult, sect, theology, idealogy, or whatever they call it.

I know they were ver good at breaking up marriages and relationships in general, not to mention also being very astute at collecting the wealth of members.........

Yes, according to these towers of light we are all prisoners here from the planet they invented......and so it goes.

And people fault us for believing every word that proceeds from the Mouth of God......... Now, you tell me.

as we have learned the hard way and have seen, we ARE truly prisoners of this world,
that is, until our Holy Saviour 'delivers-us' out of it...

I am watching the show, really amazing. I really dodged a bullet, I think, when I decided not to go into a scientology bookstore and buy a book. It seems that as soon as you even INTRODUCE yourself to a scientologist, it is their life goal to make you one of them. And if they fail to do so they get in trouble.

It's pretty much a system that forces you to -buy- your way into it... insane. Absolutely insane. And then you're not allowed to question it. I would be horrible at that, I question everything lol.

I'm also watching 'Glenn' a show by Glenn Beck where he uses a chalkboard to explain things. This week he is going over Socialism and I can't help but notice the glaring similarity between Scientology and Socialism.
