Yes. Absolutely.

Those teachers who wish to be armed, and who go through training in tactics, etc, absolutely should be able to be armed.

Or, if a school district prefers, and can afford it, armed guards should be hired and stationed at or near access points to the school.

The silly notion that "we should not have to have armed guards at school" is simply ludicrous.

If we have armed guards at every OTHER location where "precious" items are located (banks, museums, sporting events ?) how silly is it to NOT have armed guards protecting our CHILDREN, for crying out loud?

I believe no need to arm the teachers. enhancing the school security and modifying the school rule about harassment and bullying are the best solutions for the problem.

I believe the shooter was bullied the reason he run amok.

Florida schools already have strict anti bullying policies for years. It is time we have anti murderer policies.

I don't agree with your op actually

Trump did not say he wants teachers to be armed

what he actually did say, was that not everyone can handle a firearm but specific people who can might be able to do so..which would mean a person does not have the usual 10 minutes to kill as many as they can

ideas are being suggested and solutions are being sought

only a dimwit would say give everyone a gun and let them start shooting

Actually, Trump said to pay teachers a bonus to carry.

yes he did

but in the context of those who carry and are able to do so...not every teacher

big difference

go see the news site where his words are recorded. do a little homework and find it.

But that isn't how you worded it. You need to write clearer. I'm listening to him speak on the issue at CPAC this very moment.

I believe the shooter was bullied the reason he run amok.
Bullied shooter run amok?
Sounds pretty benign.

First off, he's a murderer, not merely a "shooter".
Secondly, he didn't "run amok", he murderously rampaged.
Third, the murderer was the bully; people were afraid of him.

Excuses and euphemisms.
It's what liberals do.

Arming teachers is a bad idea. Either introduce a metal detector... or have a Marshall for each class room.

Does anybody have evidence that arming teachers is a good idea?
I mean: real evidence, not "I think it will help"

Also, who will pay for the training of armed teachers? Schools are constantly struggling to buy pencils,
let alone training people to confront an emergency situation.
