I would like to know where these trillions of dollars are hiding at. Seeing that most corporations capable of scraping together a billion dollars are publicly traded, and profits are distributed to share holders, and most share holders are middle-class folk and their retirement accounts, I doubt what you say.

''A new Tax Justice Network (TJN) USA report reveals an estimated $21 – $32 trillion of hidden and stolen wealth stashed largely tax-free secretly.Titled “The Price of Offshore Revisited,” it explains what financial insiders know but won’t discuss. Many of them have their own hidden wealth ... 50 top private banks managed over $12 trillion in cross-border assets from individual clients, trusts and foundations.Smaller banks, investment firms, insurers, and non-bank intermediaries like hedge funds and independent money managers handle additional amounts up to an overall $32 trillion estimate.''

As Ricky wrote, if these elites would bring their sheltered wealth back into the economy the nation's debt would end, there would be no unemployment, we could re-build the infrastructure, and we could eliminate the income tax.

Maybe they're about too.

Let us hope so. It's as much to their advantage as it is to everyone else.

^ I should have added above that by bringing back all that capital, it will cause such a vast expansion of the economy that profit margins will increase to unprecedented levels. Your stock portfolio will be multiplied in value several times over and unemployment will no longer exist.

They're not just gonna bring it back and put it on the bank. There has to be something to invest it in that isn't either run by criminals or held hostage by Marxist idealogues...or both.

I agree in principle with what you wrote, though part of it will be put into banks and other financial institutions. The key is to spur the economy through growth and there are a myriad of ways to do it which, again, will be profitable for them and for all of society.

There's 3 but Google it there's much more.

These monies are not taxed, nor are they invested in jobs and retirement funds. They are collateral for the CEO's jets and yachts.

I don't doubt what you say. What you say scares the h3ll out of me because I understand just how uninformed the people are who put us here. And how people like Trump and Hillary play them.

And the rich would be richer. Money in people's pockets creates consumerism which creates demand which creates volume which creates wealth - at all levels, not just the top.

Trickle down economics is like giving a dog 10 bones, expecting that he's going to share 9 of them with other dogs.

What you get is one dog protecting his 9 bones while the rest work their butts off trying - and failing - to get just one.

Nice effort, but your canadian source is bull crap, suspect at best. If you read the article carefully, you will see it is a bunch of guessing done by some leftest outfit called the Tax Justice Network. The are estimating 32 trillion dollars sheltered. Why not just say it's 64 trillion. They don't know.

I get it, I really do. Rickyz and the Peace frog are old school commies that want a government to extort money out of the wealthy at the end on a gun barrel. Envy is a maddening thing. Roast old scrooge mcduck on a fire. I get it, it's the Bolshevik way.

If you want money so bad, create something of intrinsic value and sell it or starve to death. It's your choice.

Why would anyone in their right mind bring money they made overseas to the United States to be taxed so heavily?

That is true. But the US tax legislation's arms are real long and are trying to get its greedy hands on money made overseas at any cost.

If you've been listening you've already heard it several times. Which means continuing to talk about it is wasted time.

It's money made here in the US that they have moved offshore. Do you not read the news?

You know, the people trying to institute voter id laws have it wrong. What needs to be instituted are informed voter laws. If you can't show that you are truly informed on a subject you don't get to vote on it. It could be as simple as this:

The US is the richest nation on earth. True or false?

Oh i've heard it plenty. That wasn't my question. The question is how it actually works in the real world. Not in some utopian adherents fantasy world.

I disagree.

You should NOT have to be informed in order to vote.

It would NOT be fair to exclude liberals from the voting process.

I know I've said this before...when I'm torn between two male candidates I choose which one I find more attractive....and I'm not kidding

I know I'm not the only that does this, but at least I look at their plan and goal while in office first...I try to be educated
