I wonder what Africa ever did that they have so much trouble. Do they ever NOT have drought? Or war or famine or disease or some sort of ethnic cleansing?

Agreed. It is difficult not to grow callous with so many problems afflicting Africa for years on end.

Africa's real problem is lack of infrastructure. There are plenty of populated areas in the world where there are desert conditions and hardly any rainfall yet it is densely populated and there is enough water available through man-made aquaducts and irrigation systems that connect to rivers, streams and lakes. Places that immediately come to mind are Arizona, Nevada, Saudi Arabia, etc..

I'm not saying we shouldn't pray for rain for them. I'm just saying that rain isn't the only answer.

Instead of praying I think I'll make a donation, probably works better anyway.

I think much of it is a result of European colonization and exploitation.

I was raised in Zimbabwe and I can say that Africa is filled with many resources, but it has greedy, selffish leaders who build themselves huge mansions while the people starve. Also, many African people aren't actually Christians. I know the missionaries came from Europe to tell people about God, yes many africans go to church, however they still worship idols. From personal experiences and having friends from other African countries, I know that many go to church, but also go pray to the idols and witch doctors. Maybe God is punishing Africans for worshiping other Gods....?

That is possible as well. It wouldn't be the first time.
