Toads know the easy, slow life flow:
Rest for hours, stay put,
Utter a ‘howdy’ here, there.

Get used to them, so do not
See them till you hear
Them. Shiny and green. Wait till

They hop. Or come back to try
And see. Won’t bite. A
Friend on a dirt rocking chair
