Oh Lord my heart weeps. My spirit broken in two. My tears have no more places to run. Good things I have forsaken. Evil I had embraced. Brothers look lowly on me. Sisters smirk at my dismay. Parents turn their heads in prudence. Friends hide their faces. I am but alone.

Hear my cries Oh Lord. Do not forget your servant. Bring me up from the depths. Heal my severed arms. Wash me with clean water. Purify me by your love. Keep my path straight. Redeem me unto yourself. The Lord is my refuge. The Lord is my rock.

Amen.

Oh LORD you are my Hiding place, You bring radiance upon my face. Sweetest LORD Your amazing grace has lifted me up from my darkest place.
You came to save me and those who are lost, You paid the price whatever the cost

The imagery of the severed arms speaks to me of being in a time when we cannot hold on to God but need him to encompass us in his arms. It acknowledges that inability and the need for him to supply the refuge. So often we are told by others to hold strong but I think there is a lot of wisdom in knowing that we need him to hold us.
