I've got a tear in my eye, I've got a thorn in my side
I've got an attitude that keeps on dragging me down
I've got unseen pain, that fills my heart with rain
You know it keeps me here on my knees with my face to the ground

I've got memories of how it used to be
You know the things that I trusted in nearly ended my days
And how You spoke to me that if I'd only believe
You would heal this broken heart and lead me in grace

Lord, I don't understand the working of Your hand
But I know that the promises that You made to me are true
So I'll keep seeking Your face for the rest of my days
Till my race is run and my time on this world is through

I just want You, Lord I just want You
Who am I supposed to be and what am I supposed to do
I just want You, You know I just want You
Tell me how to hear Your voice, show me how to see Your face
Teach me how to walk in Your ways...I just want You. - T.C.

I like verse three a lot. God never promised to give us answers for the things we experience or suffer in this life. Job didn't really get a solid answer, just "It is for MY glory, justify ME rather than yourself." That's a hard one to accept sometimes.

I'm not even sure we will get all the answers in Paradise. Some Christians say we will know everything. I'm not so sure about that. I think we will certainly know - fully - that whatever we experienced and suffered was purposeful and God was wise and just to allow it in our lives.

That last verse is very significant too. God just wants US. That's why He allows the thorns in the side, the tears, the pain, the rain. If our lives were perfect, we would never feel our need of Him.

I know what you mean about many saying that one day God will explain everything to us. I just don't see where He ever said that. If He wants to, great. But He's God. He will do what He wants to do. Being there, I don't believe I'll want to dwell on this life. I could be wrong.

Exactly! I think we will have better things to do!

Humans were created to work and build and be creative. I think we will be occupied in Paradise DOING STUFF that glorifies God and blesses His people. Don't know exactly what that means, but the part of the Curse/Fall that makes work painful and miserable will be gone. There will just be the joy of doing something you love and seeing it help others. :)

Rather we are told the former things will be forgotten, so why would there be a need to know more about them?

“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind."

Nice poem, by the way :)

Greetings my fellow servants,

I just want to serve, whether here or there.
When Jesus says come up hither,I want to be worthy to go. Leaving the chains of sin behind that that keep us here !

Heb12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

John8:36 if the son therefore shall make you free,ye shall be free indeed.

A very sober poem, brother.

I wrote this in 1995. It was from the heart. He's been with me every minute since. He is faithful, as I am sure you know.
