The Lord Said Let There Be Light
And There Was
man said let there be light
and he stretched his zippo forth to no effect

Man had his own go at light
It was fair
Disney, Shakespeare, Dante
The wheel turns with flair, but still a wheel it is

I had my own go at light
It sputtered
A poem, book, sonnet
Prometheus cashed out, nothing goes as planned

The tower rose and fell
It shattered
I pick up pieces
The mirror remade, identity, unknown me

God smiles down, touches
Intensions
A life all reborn
Growing pains, remapping, water flows through, touch

The Lord Said Let There Be Light
And There Was
So it all goes up
We catch Him in his wake, coattails loose and free

Our lightbulbs are rust
Sunlight wins
We bask in His glory
Wait for the time He absolves our sin
