The Image and the Mission

Behold the perfect Heavenly Image
Now partaking of dust of earth
From beginning to finish
To recapitulate the first
Water to Adam's thirst

The seed of eternal decrees
In time grew from earth's soil
Binding the strong man to take his spoil
Hope found itself afresh
In the Word now become flesh

From hopeful whispers to wilderness's shout
Prophetic steps of the path were paved
Dragon fled to the darkness of his out
Human hearts and eyes opened to be saved

All were invited to come and heal
The poor in flesh and spirit
Arrived for the true meal

I hope I don't make you cringe! I used your poem as a launching pad!


Behold the image of Him in man
Lowly born in manger His birth
The Lamb of God that walked the earth
From His sorrow from our Fall
Gave Adam hope in His plan

Known before time was
His merciful plan came to pass
Used the strongman to make us grow
Tempted so we flee to Him to show
His protection, grace, and mercy to know

Spirit always present, even in the wilderness
In the sky, earth and seas,
Sent prophets crying to straighten the way
So that human hearts would open and see

We children are all poor, and and nothing compared to you
But we have been drawn because you love us
and you bid us to come to you as our Father
How we love you that loved us first.
Come Lord Jesus!
