On the internet I roam.
I begin to wonder what I should write for a poem.
Then I wonder, what is the purpose for writing a poem.
Is it just to get attention?
Perhaps someone should in act an intervention.
Social media, in all it's glory,
Addiction becomes my story.
A waste of time,
Seems to be it's design.
So I guess I will just write another rhyme,
When I turn this off, I'll be fine,
Until it's time to write another rhyme.
Oh Sweet Jesus, I'm sorry for sin,
Thank you for not throwing me into the garbage bin.
Without your grace, I'd never be able to show you my face.

Most of my poetry came out of extreme, life-crushing anguish, so thank God
I am not living in that kind of pain any more. It was like digging for gold,
though the treasure I found was the heart at the center of it all: mine.
A lot of it was written following the dissolution of my marriage, at the
beginning stages of my seriously seek capital "T" truth.

Writing is an interesting process. I tore the language apart and put it back
together again with a dictionary and a thesaurus. How often the poem went
in some direction I had not anticipated due to a simple word choice was kind
of mysteriously inexplicable, yet still my truth was extracted in this way when
no other means was available for me to express my all-consuming distress.

I'm sorry you had to go through that stuff. I'm glad your doing better these days. :)

You write a poem to express a thought
Something that you think we ought
To hear from you and understand
Expression's the primary plan
A poem is like a song or book
Or sermon, if you closer look
It says what you think we should know...
But I can't finish this now, I've got to go o_O

Lynx, interesting... lol

I'm not sure that I'm a poet or not. Almost every single poem I ever write, rhymes in some way.

There are different styles of poetry. What style is yours? Do you know? I'm just curious.
