If ever I would fly about
I'd only in sleep,
And when I drew a sword from stone
the blade broke ... incomplete.

I'd hit a ball and thought for sure
It'd fly the sun around.
Only to find on my glory run
it dropped in front of the mound.

"It's time to give up" I'd say to myself
"my only success has failed."
I'd anchor aweigh then hear the man say
"Sorry son, your ship's done sailed".

He said "I'd like to remind, not to be unkind,
but you're a little behind on your rent."
"and if I was to guess, you'd probably confess
your check's already been sent".

Now I'd take offense, but it ain't no defense
That's exactly what I would say.
I'm a dollar short and a day behind
And March rent was paid in May.

So, it makes me wonder in this life I do plunder
Why God would take interest in me.
And then I recalled that man who enthralled
Christ Jesus from top of a tree.

"Zacchaeus" He said "Come on down from that tree"
"Need to stay at your house today"
Zac climbed on down (and it took him a while)
He was sawed-off short, you see.

Zac wasn't well liked, was a bit of a tyke
But salvation came to his house that day
Along with that thief who shared Christ's grief
On a cross, his sins washed away.

Or that officer's son with fever so high
Or that girl asleep in her grave
Or that man they lowered from a hole in the roof
Christ spoke and He touched and He saved.

So who am I to question my worth?
And who are they to slander?
I reckon Christ's blood He shed on the cross
Is all I need for answer.
