What are your favorite "cures" for bad days? What favorite Bible passages, music, foods, movies, or activities help to put you in a better mood?

Taking a bath and reading in the tub calms me when I am overwrought. I like baths very hot, which is probably not good for me physically- but helps me psychologically. Also, when I am depressed, I sleep A LOT. It is a way to escape my conscious thoughts.

Escaping conscious thoughts is not an altogether bad thing at times. Depression can be a sad thing to endure alone. I pray that God delivers you from the cloud that is hovering over you and shines His light upon you.

Smoking is my 'cure' for bad days. It's very sad being addicted to a product that's designed to ruin your health and eventually kill you in order to relieve anxiety and depression. The truth is it does neither. I drink a lot of coffee but I have reduced my consumption quite a bit and now drink Perrier water. It's not really a cure for a bad day is beneficial in flushing out the poisons. Besides that, it's fizzy and I find it comforting. It's got a slight mineral taste. Minerals are good for you or so I've been told. Presumably better than nicotine.

I am not depressed all the time, just on the days that I am depressed, I meant. Thanks for praying, though.

Hmm... bad days. I occasionally have a bad day, usually when somebody at work has been more cantankerous than usual and tried to interfere with my job.

What I do to get over my bad mood is, I go to a christian chatroom and wait for a troll. Trolls can be a lot of fun if you know how to use them right. I like to tie a troll up so tight in logic knots that he can't even remember what his initial troll question was. Then I start questioning what kind of life the troll has if the best thing he can think of for amusement is to go to a christian chatroom and try to troll them.

It's... probably not the most christian thing to do with a bad day, I admit. But it gets rid of trolls and I feel better.

For me it's music, getting out with nature and eating right.

A nice hot bath and a good book sound like a great suggestion, thanks Galatea! :)

Thanks for sharing, tourist. While I haven't smoked, several friends and family members have/do and I can respect how difficult it is to try to fight that addiction. Oh, and I will have to get some Perrier water - I'm trying to quit drinking soda and really miss the fizz of the carbonation. Isn't it funny how some of those really little things can be comforting? :)

It might not be the most Christian thing to do, but your made me laugh - which was nice - and getting rid of trolls is always a good thing!

Maka, after I initially read your post, I spent about 10 minutes just sitting outside and definitely felt better! Thanks for the reminder to get out with nature.:)

You're going to have to step up your game, you know.

After all, you still haven't gotten rid of me yet.

(Maybe you're just waiting for a REALLY bad day.) :p

Pfffft! You being a troll?

I mean yeah, you have enough intelligence to keep up your side of a debate, but a real troll needs motivation to ridicule people. If you're just making fun of people by rote, because that's what you think a troll is supposed to do... I'm afraid that won't be enough. Sorry Kim, you'll never make a good troll. You're too nice.

Now if you were in a chatroom taking on the trolls and tying them up in logic knots, THAT I could see. And that I would pay to see. What a show it would be!

90% of the time I just suffer through it. Even if I find something to make me feel better that underlying feeling stays and will show up if given any reason. So going to sleep and starting a new day is the only thing that truly works.

Watch funny muppet show songs on youtube,or relaxing songs on there too, such as songs by john Denver and paul williams that are calming, and,I never harmed an onion or the cat came back both by Rolph, just to cheer me up!
If all else fails watch teen titans the original show,or if upset take anger on warriors and creatures on fighting games like warriors orochi, samurai warriors, final fantasy, legend of dragoon,or calm down by playing animal crossing,or watch a movie like country bears to fall asleep to.
