Assuming you believe God has a particularly person for you, (this thread is not to debate this).. I have heard two main types of thought about how a person meets and finds this special person.

One is that you must seek and you will find. This is supported by the verses about seeking and finding, and whoever finds a wife..etc etc as the bible says...

The other idea is that you must wait and God will send you your wife or husband. The analogy is that if you don't look for love, it will find you, if you look for it and if you try to seek it yourself you will miss that special person because it is your efforts and you aren't letting God work.

Both of these ideas seem to conflict. What do you think, and which one is correct.

you just have to wait and seek

well from my understanding from the Bible is God never said that he will literally pick our mate. but he has shown us how to choose. No. 1 rule is tobe ye not unevenly yoked with an unbeliever. but; we can pray and ask God to find us an husband/wife, for he say be anxious for nothing but in all things make your request and supplications known unto Him. I just met my husband in Feb. and we were married in July. he is a true God fearing man, God always told me if a man don't love God; then he cant love me. not a man confessing he go to church; but from the heart confessing Christ Jesus. when we want to please God; we will treat each other good and right.according to how the Lord has set a wife to be to her husband and a husband to his wife. when my husband do somethiing that is not pleasing to me, HE RUNS TO GOD FOR UNDERSTANDING AND SO DO I, I LOVE THE THREE FOLD CORD THE LORD, HE AND I HAS TOGETHER, for a three fold cord is not easily broken. As for o women finding or seeking there was no need for neither, for when you keep your mind on the Lord and he/she come into your life the Lord will makee your hearts not be able to resist each other. YOU WILL KNOW THEM FROM THERE FRUIT. and to add dont think that it will come any way you will even imagine----- I met my husbanf on a christian chat room; not a dating site. he is younger than I am (7 yrs.) and he lived 11 hrs away. thats another story but it was so amazing how God worked it out.....He did everything my husband and I said we would NEVER DO!!!! God made it happen. WOW, WOW. I am still amazed how God did it.....

(My thoughts) I belive that you have to seek God first and the rest shall be added unto you. God wants our full attention and comitment. paul does mention in the bible that one who is single is better off than one who is married, but does mention that one who burns with lust shuld marry. There is no such thing as falling inlove, loving someone is a decision that you make. a single person is in a very good position to serve the Lord unlike a married person. this is so because they have no other obligation other than that to God. It is not a curse to be single, but actualy a blessing.
